I've just been to mine...

Down the bottom of my Dad's garden. It's so serene and beautiful :) I just love it when the cat comes to sit with me whilst I read or just sit and take in the world. All I hear is the trickle of the pond whilst the flowers sway in the breeze... absolutely perfect :)

Where's yours?
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

mine used to be Lake Samish in washington. It's where we took our summer vacation for 10 years in a row. It was the absolute greatest thing as a kid. The epitome of being a kid. Days lasted forever, carefree as can be. Ahhhhhhhhh.

Anywhere near the sea. It doesn't matter if it's calm or angry. It's the expanse of it all... the vastness. It reminds me that we're all just ripples in a pond. It's calming and reassuring to know we can't control everything and when we're gone, the chances are that something better and bigger than us will surely endure.

As I can't get to the sea very often, the next best thing is anywhere there are lots of trees. For very much the same reasons.

    Loch Lomond.

But, like Sarah, anywhere by the sea is as close as anywhere else can get to perfect for me.

i second that, though i was particularly partial to the north coast and the aran islands. im not sure how much that was those particular places, how much was the ocean, and how much was the girl though.

other than that, i would say on a beach, with the waves hitting my feet, and beer in hand.

My favorite place on earth is being at a Pearl Jam show. Its as if nothing or no one exxxists during that time and everything is forgotten. But when theres no shows.....

~DISNEYLAND. Everyone hates it cuz its too exxxpensive, crowded, over rated, etc. i dont care. Its always special to me.

~This little area in Laguna Beach, Ca. that I have yet to share with ANYONE. Its secluded and private and its a hike to get to. It has the greatest view of the ocean EVER and i can go there and sit and have the water at my feet watching the waves roll off the rocks and see the sun set & the moon rise.

I don't have one specific place that is my favourite, but I generally like being outside and being surrounded by nature, which probably stems form growing up in the countryside. I think that a lot of people take for granted the beauty of such simple things that occur naturally in this world, but I like being surrounded by them. :o

As for my favourite place entirely? That would be not of this earth, but part within my own imagination, and part within a book. If I really enjoy what i'm reading, I can just lose myself entirely for hours at a time. I'm such a geek.

I like temples here in Asia that are off the tourist trail. There's some in particular here in the mountains were no one's about and they're very relaxing places.
One in Korea stands out for me in particular. It's called Huibangsa temple, and it's on the side of Sobaeksan mountain.

Had a chance to visit the home of my ancestors Galway, when I was 16, that was amazing. Besides that anywhere by the water, love fishing off the rocks into the Long Island sound (I know its nasty and polluted but it works) or surfing in the atlantic ocean. Have always wanted to go to San Diego, my brother worked out there for awhile and said it was amazing.
