Hey all. Going to my first Event @MSG on Wednesday. I will be taking the train into Penn Station arriving about 4:45pm. Can you give me some good places to grab a bite and a few cold ones that I can walk to?
Thanks.
                Thanks.

There are a TON of options...
If you want some good BBQ and cheap suds ($3 PBR cans) hit Brother Jimmys on 31st and 8th
Blarney Stone next door to that on 8th also has some good food and often has pitcher specials
On 7th between 30th and the Garden there are several bars (Mustang Sally's, Mustang Harrys, Harringtons, etc)0

blarney rock on 33rd b/t 7th adn 6th is a great place.. 1 minute walk from penn stations.. it's an irish pub with cheap pub fare (burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches)
Stout next door is a fancy irish pub that has overpriced pizza and burgers and beer..
and next to that is a place FATS that i heard has good wings
across the street is broadway joes a hockey bar that has beer.
i recommend blarney rock. i'll be there at 5i am a rhinosaurus and my skin is three feet thick0

Local has awesome roof top bar... however the beers are like 2 dollars more expensive up there, given in a plastic cup, like 8$ for a 12 ounce. and u cant bring them up from downstairs
 buyers be ware
but overall a cool placei am a rhinosaurus and my skin is three feet thick0

It is cool, but it gets PACKED on nice days, and especially when there is a Garden event...
If you can get there early, it's worth checking out, otherwise I wouldn't bother0

A great pub with British/Irish fare (co-workers love their bangers and mash) and salads - and of course, array of fine brews on tap.
A few blocks from MSG/Penn Station - take the 8th/33rd Street exit by the post office and keep walking down 33rd. You'll see it on the corner of 33rd and 10th, next to a McDonalds.

Blarney rock is East of the Garden next to Stout, divey
I think I know which one he is thinking of...
It was also East of the Garden, but a few blocks south, maybe 31st bet BWay and 7th...
I did see that that one had closed a couple of months ago...
Blarney Stone on 8th and 31st next to Brother Jimmys
With A Blarney Rock and a Blarney Stone and a Mustang Sally's and a Mustang Harry's all within a couple of blocks of each other, they sure don't make it easy to schedule meet ups with people, especially out of towners0
