I like that stuff you mention about summer too- I love to be outside. which is why I don't really like summer...if that makes sense. because then it's too hot to be outside when you want to be. it would be nice if we had all those things you list but it never went above like 65.

It's not as if there aren't people who prefer cold over warm, so I don't know why you'd think all conversations get 'awkward' if you disagree with someone. See rearviewmirror above for example.

oh no I LOVE snow (maybe because I was born in an enormous blizzard, who knows?) I do very much dislike walking on ice-I walk like an old woman. but it's not even to make me not like winter/snow.

haha thank you, someone else dreads the happy weathermen! I mean really, why are we any better off at 80 than 60s? how is that an improvement? seems like the opposite to me. If I were the weatherman I'd say "bad news folks, the perfect spring weather is on it's way out and a unseasonable warm front is moving in, probably because of a century of incessant burning of fossil fuels. but we'll have no choice to burn them tomorrow, crank up those ACs and bring a change of clothes!"

I love this weather! I love the heat...hate the cold. I'm not as fond of humidity...but I would rather take a hot humid day over a cold bitter day anytime. I rarely use AC - I hate it! I would much rather have the windows open. Sometimes the heat can feel uncomfortable...but it never feels painful the way the cold does to me. I was definitely born in the wrong climate!

Fuck, 80 degrees and dry here? I'll take it. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous. You must really hate the 90 degree, humid summers here if you hate this already.

you're right, the weather *was* gorgeous until today (and yesterday was a wee bit too warm too).

yes I do hate it, but it's better than NC, and at least I get to be cold in the winter.

my watch is already dinging into me.

60s is *IDEAL* weather imho.

my hsuband and i were just discussing this last night and realize....hot weather is tolerable if you have NOTHING to do. as long as i can wear whatever, sit my ass in the shade on the back porch with a COLD drink filled with ICE...it's all good. it's mostly b/c i actually have to function most of the time, get dressed, go to work, be presentable...that it sucks. i'd far rather the cold if i must choose from extremes...but really....give me fantastic, temperate spring and autumn weather and i am in heaven.

yeah and that is the problem RVM and I am describing- it goes from cold to hot around here with just a few days in between! the summers down south were terrible, but I did really like how there was "spring" from about feb to april.

I like low to mid 70s. That, to me, is perfection... Right now it's like 76 here, and I have all the windows open and there is a nice breeze and I am perfectly comfortable. And then it'll still be perfect to go outside after naptime and watch the kiddo push her bubble mower back and forth on the driveway for an hour.

I don't get it either... if I'm suffering in the heat which everyone is enjoying and I say 'it's too hot for me' I've never had one of those awkward moments where everyone looks at me like I'm a freak... I'm simply stating a fact that, while it might be nice for them, for me it's too hot... so there really is no opening for them to judge me at all

And GTD you said you wanna know why... everyone gave you several great reasons... the social aspect, not having to wear a jacket, flowers everywhere... most things are just prettier in the summer!

I agree completely... it would be perfect if it were say 10degrees c (dunno in f) Monday to Friday 7-12 and 2-6

and the rest say about 25

when I can sit out the back with some beer and a book and just enjoy it.

it's just wrong
