What do you do when going out becomes boring?

I was invited out to the bars twice this weekend, once by my good friends on Friday night and on Saturday night by a guy I just met. The idea of going to a bar or a club beats me down. On Friday I opted to stay in and read and on Saturday I opted to go sing some karaoke with my friend and her mom.
So to occupy my time I've become a member of my local Young Democrats chapter, and I've signed up for a recreational volleyball team, belly dancing classes, etc., because I don't want to become anti-social.
Bars and clubs are so boring now.

What makes bars boring?
I have found that life is what you make it!
There are some fun people at bars and clubs.
Even more so if you need a good night of wild sex with no comittments
so boys......where do you want me?0 -
I wonder how many people were half way through writing a post, then decided not to

Nothing wrong with a little down time. I go in phases, for a few months straight I'll be busy every weekend and then for a few months I'll REALLY look forward to my Netflix queue & my PJs when I get home."If you're looking for someone to pull you out of that ditch, you're out of luck."0

thats legit - i can def see how they could become boring. you do watever you gotta do to have fun. i like to drink as much as the next person, but i am not into that shit very much either.0

Getting dressed up to go out to a smokey bar where I will be hit on by some random dude while listening to awful pop music gets very, very boring after a while. Actually, it's irritating.drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"

hahahahaha.
damn drivingrl, sounds like you DO have a pretty busy life, what more you looking for?
i was never much for the bar scene...used to really love clubs to go dancing. now i hit up the bars mostly to see hubby's bands, but otherwise, we're more restaurant people. i truly enjoy being at home....going to concerts...and going over to friends, hanging out....and just enjoying good convo and the occasional new person who joins in.
sounds like you have a great line-up of activities to keep it interesting!Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow0 -
people are overrated0

It's (dd)REVOLUTION, baby!I smile, but who am I kidding...0 -
If bars are getting boring. Do some activities(looks like you are)
Maybe go to live music clubs, listen to some things you'd never listen to ordinarily.
Or buy an XBOX 360

It's funny - one of my good friends signed me up for World of Warcraft, but I didn't get into it.drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"

1. dont bother dressing up... just dont bother wearing anything actually
2. come to scotland... smoking is banned in pubs/bars.
3. we banned pop music in bars just yesterday!!!!
4. i'm not random.. you sorta know me.
sorted that one for you havent i?
p.s. adhere strictly to no.1
sounds like you're busy enough... ohhh and young democrats sounds like a blast...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

i never went to clubs. bars were more my speed. but i almost never go to them now, safer that way
but it sounds like you're doing a damn fine job of finding other ways to keep busy. i'll take a good book over a crowded bar any day. the thing to really adjust to is that if you're not at a bar or club, your night is going to be over earlier. that was the only thing that bothered me at first... being home at 11 and knowing that somewhere the party was just getting started.and like that... he's gone.0 -
Drink alone."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

I started getting bored with going out and getting drunk, then one day it was a roomates birthday, and I had a blast. SO I did the math, and having four roomates gave us the chance to celebrate and party four times a year. At this, I decided it would be a good idea to celebrate my half birthday...then we had eight reasons to celelbrate. Then I stared celebrating my conception date (cause THAT one was a blast!)
You just need a reason to celebrate. They're all over the place. Party on...
oh, I also drink like hell on Eddies birthday, as a thanks and all.Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
I stay inAll I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0 -

The funny thing is, I signed up for all of these things to occupy my time, and inevitably after a game or a meeting someone will say, "Hey, let's all go to the bar down the street and have a few drinks." And roll my eyes and I think, "Oh, for the love of..." There must be more interesting things to do than to sit around at a bar and listen to bad music.
I guess I've become a snob in my old age. :rolleyes:drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"
