Comment for the Ladies and Men....

I read a few comments in the bra thread but I didnt want to hijack it so I will bring it up here.
I read in the bra thread that after someone split with there husband they went nuts and bought all kinds of bras, thongs etc., actually I think 2 people said this. After friend split up with his wife she lost a bunch of weight and started dressing better and going out to the bars etc.
Just wondering why the ladies dont do this when there attached? I am sure there are men out there that get in shape when there are single again. I want to know why? Why not keep yourself looking good for your partner and treating your partner right.

I think it was Chris Rock who said Hilary should have been pushing Monica Lewinsky out of the way to take care of Bill. So i guess what I am trying to say is Women and Men take care of your partner and be sexy for each other.

    Reciprocation is a fine, fine thing. Unfortunately it can also mean when someone treats you badly, you sometimes start to treat yourself badly too.

    After being screwed up and fucked over, treating yourself like a princess can help bring back the self-confidence you used to have before it was sucked out of you.

    I did this when my ex left. It wasn't about getting another man, but about making me remember that I was worth the effort despite feeling that I wasn't.

    Very well said. I interpreted those posts to mean new beginnings, fresh starts, making yourself feel good. Sometimes I buy a new bra/lipgloss/whatever when I want to feel pretty/confident/etc. It is nice to treat yourself to something new. I don't do it for anyone else, I do it for myself.

    I do have to say that I had a bunch while married too... But wanted to start over fresh!

    My ex-husband didn't appreciate the lingiere ... I found out later it was because he had a girlfriend. So once I found that out... I treated myself to a 'I'm worth it' shopping spree, which included all new lingiere that HE would never see!

    But, to the original post, there really is something to be said for keeping yourself up, not for your partner, but for you. Everyone should care enough about themselves to keep themselves in good shape. :)

    I think a lot of times it tells more about the relationship... And how ur partner makes u feel about urself. It's one thing to care about urself but when the ONE person who suposedly loves you treats you like poop...then it's harder to care for yourself.

    I think a lot of people get into a relationship and get complacent. When I've involved I like someone for who they are...but that's not an excuse for either one of us to gain 20 lbs.

    if you relationship relies on looking good and sex on command, then you ain't got much, and it'll get old and end. So hot and skinny, or not so skinny ain't gonna save anything either way IMO
