Movie stuck in my head, Don't know the name...

Okay, bare with me here.
It takes place in the 70's, and I remember the main kid riding a skateboard to the local afterschool rec center, kinda like the one in "Dazed and Confused".
For some reason the kids rebel and start all sorts of trouble in the town. The parents have a meeting about it at the local school in the evening. At the end the girl has to go away to a detention center on a bus.

I know this sounds strange but I gotta know what this movie is.
Any help???????

    that's it no doubt i remember and the one song was a pretty good one it had a line that wen't something line "million miles awaya away million miles away " yeah that was pretty cool ....
