This may sound odd to you guys, but in my little house in a little mining town in a little valley in Wales, Metal Health could often be heard booming out from my bedroom. I loved them, what was it 84, 85? Never got the chance to see them tough, but loved the records. Its a sad story, and btw, that barnet of Kevs is either a weave or a 'syrup', he was receeding way back in the 80's. RIP.I came, I saw, I concurred.....0

QUIET RIOT Drummer Frankie Banali - "With Kevin's Passing A Very
Large Part Of My Life And My History Has Come To End And I Can't
 Imagine Life Without His Presence"
Posted on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 20:58:04 EST
QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali has issued the following
 update:
"I want to thank everyone for the hundreds of condolences that
I've received in honour of Kevin (DuBrow) which continues to pour
in. With Kevin's passing a very large part of my life and my
history has come to end and I can't imagine life without his
 presence.
I've not slept. There is such a void in every part of my life
now. I can't find any words to say that make any sense of it. I
can't fix this, I can't change this and I'm expected accept the
unbearable. I can't utter a sentence or think of my dear friend
or even say his name without a flood of tears.
I can't stand that I won't hear his voice on the phone.
I can't stand that I won't step on a stage with him again.
I can't stand that I won't share another day with him.
I can't stand that I won't sit across from him laughing.
I can't stand to go past the room and see the awards we earned
 and shared.
I can't stand that life is forever changed.
 I can't stand that I can't change this.
I can't stand that I have to accept this.
This is a picture that Kevin sent to me on May 24, 2007. It was
taken in 1993 after we had reconciled and started working
together again and when he sent it to me he called to say that
this is how he will always like to remember us as friends. A
relationship in life that continued until now. I want to
remember my dear Kevin in life like this rather than in his
 passing."Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0

That's what I said. Didn't anyone give a shit enough about him to realize they hadn't heard from him in SIX days? His fiance'? What was she doing during that time? Does he ordinarily text her at 240am and she does nothing for six days?Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0

WTF? How did she not know he was a rockstar?
She knew him for years and was ENGAGED to him but this piece of info never came up? Didn't they do a reunion or something a few years ago?
Seems strange to me."Don't lose your inner heat...ever" - EV 5/13/060

I think it was just poorly written and the statement should say that she didn't know he was a rock star when she met him.dontloseyourheat wrote:WTF? How did she not know he was a rockstar?

Tragic and sad. Still it doesn't beat Layne Staley who was dead for almost two weeks before anyone found him.
What is also tragic and sad is that there seems to be a lack of acknowledgement to the influence that Kevin DuBrow and the other members of Quiet Riot have made to Heavy Metal. First, forget that the legendary Randy Roades was their original guitarist. That in its self is pretty remarkable. Quiet Riot's Mental Health LP was the first record of the Heavy Metal genre to reach number 1# on the album charts due to the single "Cum on feel the Noise". This record became a sensation in the early 80s thanks in part to MTV and constant radio airplay and helped to legitimize Heavy Metal music for hundreds of thousands of fans. By finally bringing Heavy Metal into the mainstream, they helped to pave the way for the hundreds of new American metal bands that soon followed (Holy Cow, it think I just kinda described Nirvana!). Even though their popularity waned in the band's later years, I don't think that anyone can deny the impact that they have had on popular music as a whole.
Cum On People, Feel the Noise and show some love for this man and his band. They deserve it.
