What do you all think about this?
:( Makes me very sad for the horses, just doesn't seem like a very nice life for them.....I have a turtle that lives a better life.

I think it's disgustingly cruel wherever carriage horses are used, NYC or elsewhere. My family keeps horses at home and I know what healthy, happy and fit horses look like -- I have never seen one of these look remotely healthy. They are always skin and bones, dirty, listless and often have psychological problems, most likely from beatings and harsh punishments. Same for "pony rides" at most circuses, petting zoos, fairs and other events.2003: Toronto

I honestly won't even watch this video. I pass them in Boston and while they appear in decent health, I can't imagine standing and walking on cement and cobblestone all day makes for a happy, healthy equine. Not to mention sucking in exhaust fumes from idle cars, passing cars. I love (and miss) my horse and couldn't imagine putting her through that kind of life.believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

I'm surprised we still have Horse and Carriage nowadays. Dangerous idea!!!
Horses used to be a man best friend back in the pre-automobile days.PJ- 04/29/2003.06/24,25,27,28,30/2008.10/27,28,30,31/2009

It is terribly cruel. The carriage drivers on Beale Street in Memphis always hit you up there asking "Do you want to ride?" I always say "no, I like horses."The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0

You could just haul shit from the farm and spread it on the streets. Or just leave old saddles/harnesses lying around. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -
Im not even going to look at the video. I feel the same about this as I do circus animals, bullfighting, foxhunting..It may not be as barbaric as these but it's still cruel imo. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0
