IT BOTHERS ME TO READ THREADS LIKE THESE

this girl knows nothing of the pain we suffered

i lost 100 friends and family members and almost my brother

not to mention i lived 5 blocks from it

I am so glad you started this. I couldn't put it into words. Having worked in the North Tower in both 93 and 01 and having gotten out each time and lost a number of people I know, the last thing in the world I want to see is a thread like this. I get peoples obsession with it, but it has been almost 7 years and would not like to think about it again especially on a site I come to enjoy myself.

    Sorry if this seems harsh.

Just think there maybe kids of those that were lost roaming through here.

I don't get people's obsession with it though. That's just not good!

That must be tough to see 100 faces that are no longer with us do to that senseless act....I'm sorry to hear that

The company I worked for at the time had a bunch of guys workin on our sprinkler system for the warehouse...they were also workin on the Trade Center at the time...they were all lost on that day(about a dozen)

I'll never forget that feeling in my gut on that day...tragic

I'm not sure which is more morbid, this girl's obession or the fact that they make 9/11/01 calendars in the first place.
  • Pearl Jam are not a tragedy....are they?? ;)

That's the coolest post ever! :o

wow. i got chills reading this. thank goodness :)

my ex husband is also obsessed w/it - saved the newspapers, magazine, even the tv guide w/it on the cover. he was a few blocks away and stood there and watched it all. it destroyed him as a person in ways i cannot even begin to explain. sad.

I know someone who had an extremely similar experience, but the other direction- his job had just moved OUT and it was his first day in a different building.

    damn, 100 people? that's horrible. i'm sorry :(

i have a photo of my sis and i on top of one of the towers, taken a couple years prior, i couldn't even stomach seeing it anymore so i took it off my bookshelf. and people having calendars? creepy.

i visited ground zero last year and had to leave out of total disgust, seeing people selling souvenirs like paintings and calendars and such.

*edit* and another thing, that chick shouldn't have all that stuff paraded about at work. what if someone comes by that lost someone in that tragedy?

The chick is an absolute weirdo. I really understand keeping the newspaper or magazine because as sad as it is, it's a part of history. I just can't understand why all the other stuff that surrounds her desk. It freaks me out and she is sitting there right now probably searching the internet for more photos from that day..:o

  • then you can clean up her desk while she's away for the rest of the day. or just make this her new background.

seriously though she maybe should seek help, it was 7 years ago and no one she knew died in it? she should get over it.

    your right..

    ass

i can't help but think, if she has that much stuff at her cubicle, imagine how much stuff is in her HOUSE. eek!

i was really interested in the whole thing after it happened, more as a process of trying to understand. it was devastating to everybody, even if you were clear on the other side of the country. but being educated and obsessing are two different things. i still don't think it's appropriate to have that stuff all over the place at work, out of respect for someone who might come through who was directly affected by it. just common sense, which eludes a LOT of people lol

I know...I'm not sure why Management won't say something. IT's distracting and kind of crazy! :o
