Question for British jammers who were kids in the '70s

Nope. I knew kids in my class who did, though.
I'll tell you the fashion (and common sense) disaster of the seventies. Dungarees for small kids. I admit having crapped myself in class a couple of times, aged about five, but what could I do? Houdini would have had the same trouble.0 -

thanks a bunch."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -
FinsburyParkCarrots wrote:Now, I love the Mr Men. The Little Miss lot were a bit after my time ('80s, and therefore shite), but the Mr Men were fantastic.
I'd challenge you on the eighties thing but I never knew if my eighties programmes were just seventies re-runs?
Mr. Tickle used to scare me. :(
Oh and take some of this! Creepy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFKTeZ-tSGU&feature=related Well, it was scary at the time.0 -
FinsburyParkCarrots wrote:I can see myself, in July 1976, on my fourth birthday, sitting on my tricycle with the Mary Mungo and Midge sticker on the seat, in the back yard in the sunshine, drinking a can of Jokers and eating Doctor Who chocolate. Anyone remember Doctor Who chocolate? It had Tommmmmmmmmm Bakerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr on the wrapper, and he was sitting in his yellow old banger, Bessie.
I remember that summer - there was a massive heatwave that year, lasted for weeks. I remember being about four or five and sitting half naked in the doorway of the launderette with my twin sister and giggling at everything. No-one was wearing any clothes.
I remember we used to get mary mungo and midge comics! Do you remember Bod? I used to love that show though looking back it was kind of wierd!"We have to change the concept of patriotism to one of “matriotism” — love of humanity that transcends war. A matriarch would never send her own children off to wars that kill other people’s children." Cindy Sheehan

I find it hard to believe you watched Grange Hill. I always imagine that you were born hairy with a drink in your hand.
Jenkins was about 40 when I started watching it.0 -

It was part of the Bod programme. First you'd get Bod, the cartoon, then you'd get some blurred objects and you'd have to guess what they were, then you'd get Alberto the Frog and his Amazing Animal Band. Then you'd have a game of snap where you'd try and match an Aunt Flo with another Aunt Flo, instead of a PC Copper.0 -
