I have a co-worker who is a strict catholic who truly believes that he is the anti-christ also..... She isn't joking, she is totally serious about it. I'm not going to discuss with her because she doesn't see basic logic or reason in many things that I disagree with her on.
    ...
You should tell her what AnotherClone was reffering to...
tell her if she votes for Obama... then, that means Jesus will be coming soon afterwards.
If she doesn't vote for Obama, then, he won't rise to power, start the Armageddon and Jesus will not be coming to save her.

and she probably believed W was put here by god to be president...and all presidents should ignore the wisdom of experienced dads to ask for gods thoughts prior to killing thousands.

I actually couldn't vote last time around, I was in Santa Monica.

I would have voted NDP, but really all three parties are more or less pretending. NDP pretends the least in my books.

they all pretend...some more than others...but one of two pretenders will become president and I have a bit of a better chance to have Obama nominate a less conservative supreme court justice.

This comment makes sense. True Christians should welcome the rapture and freedom from this earthly life.

Of course, the OP didn't really say anything negative about the fact the co-worker thought that.

I didn't think about it that way! Maybe she is happy about it. :)

I could see her sitting happily at her desk saying "Obama is the anti christ, so don't give me any projects that need to be completed after January 20, 2009, because I'm going to be kind of busy packing my shit for the rapture".

    ok maybe not. :D

I'm more worried about the people who actually beleive in an anti-christ.

Because nine times out of ten they were the same people who gave W. the keys to the Whitehouse.

That's really not true. I believe there will be an Anti-Christ. I know plenty of people that believe there will be an Anti-Christ but I wouldn't give George Bush the keys to the gas station bathroom let alone the Whitehouse and I know plenty of believers that think the same way.

I keep forgetting people actually believe in the anti-christ. Must be very exciting to be a christian, and disappointing, I guess.

Unfortunately, I think nothing has to be said.
Some people are just stupid. You won't be able to help them being intelligent.
If they are stupid enough to think that Obama is the anti-christ, then I think it's too late for them.

It has very little to do with intelligence, it's faith.

when being faithful means that people don't think by themself, it has to do with intelligence. IMO

Well ah..... the fundamentalist kinds. Yeah, pretty much.

I had to put up with the shit for almost 20 years so forgive me for my perception of religion as the ultimate form of branwashing. When I'm told by someone that what I can reason, see, know and test is wrong there is a problem.
