For the last 8 years comedians have had a BLAST with Bush/Cheney and IF Obama/ Biden get elected they'll be hardly ANY Material for laughter from those two.

McCain/Palin would however would be a blast for the next 4 years for comedians. Let the laughter BEGIN. :D

Peace and smile today it's fricking FRIDAY! :)

I'm sure Jon Stewart would simultaneously implode and explode from the combination of despair and joyous anticipation. :p
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

I think there will always be good material regardless.
But you're right we've already witnessed some great jokes at the expense of McCain/Palin.

I think Biden could provide almost as much material as W and Slick Willy.

Same with Obama, though I wonder if peopl ewill back off some for fear of appearing racist.

I would say they got just as much material, if not more from the previous Clinton Administration. Everyone does stupid stuff, and if you are president comedians and talk show hosts are going to pick up on it and use it no matter what party you belong to.

Will John Stewart and the like make fun of Obama? I think they'll take it very easy on him.

Comedians being fearful of racist laughter, no way they'll jump on it right from the start NOTHING will be out of bounds both from white and black comedians. :)

Nah, in the infamous Crossfire interview before the 2004 election Jon said that he'd make fun of Kerry just as much if he won, because the ridiculousness of the administration would probably be similar.

Maybe it will seem comedians are going easier on Obama because he's actually a credible leader. Crazy thought, I know.

have no fear, Palin has already begun her 2012 campaign ... she'll be around.

  • I remember right before the 2004 election Bill Maher asked the viewing audience to vote for Bush because it would make his job as a comic writer easier.
  • I think Biden and Obama would provide just as many comic opportunities as any other administrations.

You guys know late night programming and the Daily Show both existed before the Bush presidency, right? Bill Maher was making fun of politicians on both sides of the aisle on television for almost two decades and voted for Dole in '96? Shit even Dennis Miller is kind of funny, right?

And god knows there's never been any jokes about black people. A comedian with edgy material too?

Anyway, you can't tell me that Biden won't say some downright goofy shit. Not with the regularity Palin has been going lately, but sometimes you have to wonder if he means what he says or the words just kind of fall out of his mouth that way.

Yeah Biden is a clown, I think he will provide lot's of jokes for Comedians. But not as much as W.

I think right now they don't go after Obama as much because of the fear of sounding like a racist. But maybe that will change if he wins.

But of course, nothing will beat the comedy of a McCain/Palin presidency.

IF Obama wins I hope they'll make jokes like they would ANY other President it's just W is the king of jokes for comedians. The material garnered from him and Cheney is as vast as the height of MT. Everest. :)

Comedians could work the smooth angle of Obama to a tee, Richard Pryor would have a field day with Obama shenanigans. :)

Bob Hope would disagree with you. Seriously, our presidents have ALWAYS been a punchline.
