Exactly! I don't see things changing with the other guys...so the least I can do is vote for the one represents the things that I agree with.

And america polls as supporting UHC, a decreased military budget, a crackdown on corporate crime and welfare....And yes, these are polls but they are the same polls telling these folks Nader has no chance of winning and they seem to be eating those up so....

what i always get from polls is that people tend to be given simple questions with simple soluations and the people just say yes this sounds good. i live in Canada (yes, i am not american) and i will tell you something there are alot of people here who hate UHC the reason being we have it. Americans don't have it so they think that it is a great idea (WHAT! I GO TO TEH HOSPITAL AND DON'T PAY FOR IT) i think america is tired and really i think it is a nation of depression (no insult). they have gotten to the point where even if they found someone that woudl be the best president (which i don't know if Nader is that, but i don't know if any of your leaders are) that person would not win. i think america issues are long and hard and will take a very long time to resolve (if possible)

ok, fine...you win, ralph's out there 24/7...sadly, no one seems to take notice...I'm sure the media will be blamed for that...anyhoo, I concede, he's out there fighting....like falwell and bucannan...

how about my point that ralph solely bases his platform on being the anti-corporate candidate....? which puts him very very very left...thus a polarizing figure....

Seems to me the things Nader has done for the people they have liked and has earned him an extensive legacy. Now look at the approval ratings of Congress and the President....what are they accredited with? Pissing the people off.

He's not polarizing. Polls show the people are more socially and domestically minded than our government and that they support the things Nader is calling for. If you haven't noticed, most of the large corporations out there are very anti-what's best for us and all about making as much money as they can off our backs. I don't think people are too pleased with all the rising prices, layoffs, outsourcings, loss of benefits, pollutions, dwindling wages...etc but these corporations have bought off our elected officials and thus our representation. That's where someone like Ralph Nader steps in and actually represents the people's side on these matters and gives them a voice for once. But he doesn't have the money to buy all kinds of exposure so we are left to sit back and watch him be painted as some arrogant guy who runs for president every 4 years and does nothing else....despite the truth of the matter. The corporations own the media and the government....you're hearing their skew. Ralph Nader does represent the views of the people.

It's all about power and money. But those of us who know better should act like it.

From what I've seen on this board, the ones who have UHC tend to defend it.

i am not saying that UHC is bad, i really like it. i tend to believe that HC is a human rights issue. however, you have to remember that people on a Pearl Jam board tend to be more liberal and don't always reflect the public at large. to put it in media terms, if i wanted to have a poll on who someone is supporting in teh election it would not be smart to go to an Obama rally only.
