Yes, Black Sabbath's "WAR PIGS" is a classic anti-war song! Here's 2 other videos of that song @ "WAR PIGS" LIVE with Robert Trujillo on bass and WAR PIGS...political.

THOSE WHO START WARS NEVER FIGHT THEM,
THOSE WHO FIGHT WARS NEVER LIKE THEM....M. Franti

    OZZY OSBOURNE
    War Pigs

    Generals gathered in their masses
just like witches at black masses
    evil minds that plot destruction
    sorcerers of death's construction
in the fields the bodies burning
as the war machine keeps turning
    death and hatred to mankind
poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

    Politicians hide themselves away
    they only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
    Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
    ashes were the bodies burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of god has struck the hour
Day of judgement, god is calling
on their knees, the war pigs crawling
    Begging mercy for their sins
    Satan, laughing, spreads his wings

    OH LORD YEAH!

    Generals gathered in their masses
Just like Witches at Black Masses
In the fields their bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning

    Evil minds that plot destruction
    Sorcerer of death's construction
It's the same wherever you go
To the War Pigs people know

    OH LORD YEAH!

    Politicians hide themselves away
    They only started the war
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes ... Yeah!

People running like they're sheep in fields
    People blowing out their minds
Say that you're dying here ... I know it now
Hey, you're the goner at the end ... Yeah!

On the scene a priest appears
Hell is falling at his knees
    Satan sends out funeral pyre
Cast the priest into the fire

It's the place for all bad sinners
Watch them eating dead rat cinders
It's the same wherever you go
    To Black Masses people go

    OH LORD YEAH!

Well she seemed alright by dawns early light
Though she looked a little worried and weak
She tried to pretend he wasn't drinkin' again
But daddy left the proof on her cheek
And I was only eight years old that summer
And I always seemed to be in the way
So I took myself down to the fair in town
    On Independence Day

Well word gets around in a small, small town
They said he was a dangerous man
Mama was proud and she stood her ground
But she knew she was on the losin' end
Some folks whispered and some folks talked
But everybody looked the other way
And when time ran out there was no one about
    On Independence Day

    (CHORUS)
Let freedom ring, Let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today is a day of reckoning
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
    It's Independence Day

Well she lit up the sky that fourth of July
By the time that the firemen come
They just put out the flames, and took down some names
And sent me to the county home
    Now I ain't sayin' it's right or it's wrong
But maybe its the only way
    Talk about your revolution
    It's Independence Day

    (REPEAT CHORUS)

    Roll the stone away
    It's Independence day
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

    damn straight yo

    Imagine there's no Welfare
Politicians have no votes to buy
    No government hand outs
    Where people work and thrive
    Imagine all the people
    Living to pay their way

    Imagine there's no liberals
    Pushing their agendas on you
    No confiscation of property
    This includes your income too
    Imagine all the people
    Respecting property

You may say I'm a neo
    But I'm a Libertarian
I hope some day you'll wake up
    So that liberalism is done

    Imagine no eminent domain
    Where your property remains
    No need for confiscation
To make way for strip mall plans
    Imagine all the people
    Keeping what they own

You may say I'm a neo
    But I'm a Libertarian
I hope some day you'll wake up
    So that liberalism is done

Well it certainly is a anti-war song and that should be good enough.

    you're too young to know
that you're too young to go
there's no freedom to be found
lying face up in the ground

    ashes from an unfinished life
    are all that's left
    in a tear-drop-shaped locket
    hanging from his mother's chest

you whip the back of freedom
‘till it bleeds an oil stream
then you sail down upon it
    in your killing machine

    old men who send children
    off to die in vain
they will hear death's constant whisper
    call remember my name

    gather 'round the stone
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." ~ MLK, 1963

i'm not being a sarcastic dick here...i wish i could...don't agree with me :) funny how some shit calms some people down makes other people go nuts, and how god's greatest creation: bourbon, makes me calm down, but others nuts!

Easy everybody, it's like we're startng our own war here. The goal here should be about sharing our musical tastes on anti-war and protest songs. We'll can learn more by sharing in this way.

So I'll continue with Ben Harper whose music has great soul and power. Also, totally awesome LIVE!

    BOTH SIDES OF THE GUN

Living these days is making me nervous
Archaic doctrine no longer serve us
Now we're left as silent witnesses
We don't know quite what this is
Other than a war that can't be won

    I feel like i'm crowded, i can't get out
World keeps on filling me up with doubt
When you're trapped you got no voice
Where you're born you got no choice
Other than to go and take you some

    One dimensional fool
    In a three dimensional world

    Politics, it's a drag
They put one foot in the grave
And the other on the flag
    Systems rotten to the core
Young and old deserve much more
Than struggling every day until you're done

    Tension
    Too much to mention
Living on both sides of the gun

    Peace

    PINK FLOYD

I saw Roger Walters last year and what a truly amazing show and he played this song and it took me to another place. So here's the video @ US AND THEM and see the great pics, just sit back and chill.

    b00008cloa01lzzzzzzzjpgno3.jpg
Roger Waters’ dad died at the siege of Anzio in 1944 and he’s grappled with war’s futility ever since. Dark Side of the Moon's dreamy ode to battlefield confusion was originally called "The Violence Sequence."

    Us and Them
    (Waters, Wright) 7:40

    Us, and them
And after all we're only ordinary men.
    Me, and you.
God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do.
Forward he cried from the rear
    and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
    moved from side to side.
    Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
    Up and down.
But in the end it's only round and round.
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
    The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
    There's room for you inside.

"I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short,
sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off
lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once!
It was only a difference of opinion, but really...I mean good manners
don't cost nothing do they, eh?"

    Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about.
    With, without.
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind.
For the want of the price of tea and a slice
    The old man died.

    Peace

Michael Franti is the man when it comes to PEACE. A man who actually went to Baghdad and Israel/Palestine and twice to the latter. Being 6ft 6 above sea level, dreadlocks and toting a guitar he stood out in Iraq.

So here's a video clip of Bomb the World @ Armageddeon-Bomb the World and Bomb the World 2 with graphic images.

I was trying to save Spearhead for later but you peeps are on it like hot butter on pancakes. I'll post the lyrics later.

    Peaceful day everybody

  • I just checked this song out based on a mention in the Other Music forum...and I must say, I am impressed! I had written John Mayer off as just another pretty boy who writes pops songs. I really liked this one....incredible lyrics!

Waiting On The World To Change - John Mayer
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BodyfJ8M6Oc

    me and all my friends
    we're all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there's no way we ever could
now we see everything that's going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don't have the means
to rise above and beat it

    so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
    we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

it's hard to beat the system
when we're standing at a distance
    so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want

    that's why we're waiting
waiting on the world to change
    we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

it's not that we don't care,
we just know that the fight ain't fair
    so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

    and we're still waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
    one day our generation
    is gonna rule the population
    so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

    we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change
