I was watching Sen. Obama vote on the news networks, and the gravity of that sight kinda hit home. It is truly a great day in American history.
Just wanted to say congratulations to Sen. Obama and family, regardless of the outcome.

Now let's go Mac!

What is so historic about it?

    I absolutely did.

I have no problem at all with people having different political preferences than me. I've arked up a bit at this poster in the past, but i thought that his post was well said. He's recognizing it's a historic day, congratulating Obama, and supporting his candidate. Nothing wrong with that.

It's funny, i'm an Obama supporter and 3 of my most respected posters here are non obama supporters and quite outspoken against him. Mammasan, Eliot Rosewater and Cool cat Cosmo. Go figure ;)

First African-American president, or first female vice president. Either way, that's pretty historic, seeing as how up to this point it's all been old white dudes.

This wasn't really intended to be a debate thread....

You know the answer, but instead are trying to provoke debate in a thread that really isn't about that.

because the US will elect a new president... and that president will then be added to Wikipedia's List of US Presidents page... ergo it'll be remembered... ergo its historic.

    ergo...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

You really think we've never had a mixed race president yet?

The first female vice president is fairly historic, though.

See I have a problem with what I saw on TV.... If I brought my two kids with me to the polls they would be told to wait outside...
