it's funny you said you don't appreciate generalizations...yet you say simply posting this article obviously implies he views putin as his 'fearless leader', then when you are repeatedly asked to dispute his claims you say he is a big arms dealer so we can't take his word for it, he just wants to have our spot...but isn't that admitting he is right? you are admitting we sell more weapons, so doesn't that make us even less trustworthy than putin? i thought our entire system was based on 'the lesser of 2 evils concept'? he says we destabilize the globe, that is thru arms exports, we are number 1 in this, so obviously what he says is true, right?

can you actually dispute what was said?
if putin isn't credible for being number 2 or 3 when we're #1...wouldn't that make us even less credible than him?
or can you not make the leap in your line of reasoning that:
if being an arms dealer makes him bad and we're an even bigger arms dealer, actually the biggest, doesn't this make us worse?

I regard Putin in pretty much the same light as Bush. Chechnya is Russia's equivalent of America's Iraq. Still, what he said about nuclear proliferation being encouraged by unilateral aggression in the face of international law can't be disputed.

I find it funny that a completely trashed country that has incited three times as many wars as America has can actually say that we are too aggressive with our foreign relations.

Anyways arms races are good for the economy....i think iran should have nukes, they wont use them, but it might help bring stability to the region.

Like someone said, it's the pot calling the kettle black but he's still right about the US.

I'd feel conflicted arguing that an arms race is good for a region.. even if it stimulates economies.

The very terrorists who are blowing up our troops on a daily basis.

Make no mistake, we're at war with Russia in Iraq as much as we're at war with Iran.

I agree with you, for the most part. Even though what Putin said does have a grain of truth to it, he is far from a model leader. I've said from the first verbal spars between Iran and the US started that this was not just the US vs. Iran. Russia and China have a lot of money and interests tied to Iran and I'm sure they will not sit by and let us invade/attack/levee sanctions against Iran.

Russia is the world's primary nuclear proliferator. They gave birth to the Chineese Nuclear Program. The Chineese transfered their program to Pakistan, who then transfered their technology to North Korea and were caught trying to export it to Libya. Today, Russia is currently profiting from the Iranian program and was primarily responsible for building their Nuclear facilities. No argument. But he has some balls blaming us for the cause of nuclear proliferation. It seems the intimation is "The US is scary, so buy Russian nukes to protect yourself....."

That probabaly is his motive. Didn't Russia just provide Iran with new surface to air missle defense system. Putin is the worst thing to happen to Russia since Chernobyl.
