I was just browsing Wickipedia and came across this...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper
Never heard of this fella before. It's really interesting. Anyone else heard of him?
'D. B. Cooper is the name used to refer to a man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft on November 24, 1971, received US$200,000[1] in ransom, and jumped from the plane in flight. (The name he actually used was Dan Cooper.) Despite hundreds of suspects through the years, no conclusive evidence has surfaced regarding Cooper's true identity or whereabouts, and the bulk of the money was never recovered. The FBI believes he did not survive the jump.[2] Several theories offer competing explanations of what happened after his famed jump.
The nature of Cooper's escape and the uncertainty of his fate continue to intrigue people. The Cooper case (code-named "Norjak" by the FBI)[3] remains an unsolved mystery.'

I'd never heard of him before.
I love these characters, like John Dillinger, or the fella who wrote the book 'Catch Me If You Can'.0

 Good stuff...
I've always like the DB Cooper story. I almost chose that as a username here, but I decided to keep it PJ related. My whole life
 was like a picture

Apparently some little boy dug up a bunch of the money about 20 years ago.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
 And I don't feel right when you're gone away0

            He's shacking up with Sasquatch.
I also find this story fascinating. And I so much want to believe he lived through the jump and is living it up somewhere, laughing at us all.0

            D.B. Cooper - Todd Snider

D.B Cooper was 43 when we first heard his name
47 miles away from where he fell down to his fame
But he told me that the hardest part wasn't really jumping out of the plane
It was spending the night watching those lights
 Shine through the pouring rain
They had a man hunt that next morning like nothing I had ever seen
I was only 8 years old at the time watching on a TV screen
They were saying he was never gonna make it now, now that daylight had set in
But later that night they were shining those lights
 Down on the mountain again
Not far away from the City of Roses
They all watched those lights up through the rain
 For D.B. Cooper
The cops blocked off all the exit roads and turned loose all of the hounds
They even dragged the river up a couple of times to see if he had drowned
With all those men working overtime they swore they would bring him down
But a parachute and a few hundred dollars
Was all that they ever found
Not far away from the City of Roses
They all watched those lights up through the rain
Now some people say that he died up there somewhere in the rain and the wind
Other people say that he got away but his girlfriend did him in
The law men say if he is out there someday they're gonna bring him in
As for me, I hope they never see
 D.B. Cooper again
Not far away from the City of Roses
A light shined from a house out in the rain
 It was D.B. Cooper

Exactly. I grew up hoping I'd find the cash in the woods. We always talked about it when we were camping."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080
