Now they're gonna kill our kids...

  • If i were an american I'd be more worried about the "regular kids" blowing up their schools every now and then. And comparing a hostage situation/bus bombings with nuclear attack is ridiculous. Would it have an impact in hysterical american public and media, hell yes. Comparable? Fuck no.

way to illustrate your ignorance, and unwillingness to listen to a serious question. i'm guessing you're a uniter, as opposed to a divider, right?

wtf? where's the serious question? you're calling me ignorant yet you're that one falling for this fear-filled paranoid bullshit? you sleep with a loaded pistol under your pillow for when the boogeyman drops a bomb on your house, right?

  • yes, monsters who are after our children....i don't suppose they're doing it because of the massive amount of middle-eastern children who have died due to u.s force and occupation in previous years....

  • at least someone's a student of history.

you know as heinous as 9/11 was and remains, i doubt al quaeda would have the balls to do this. i makes no sense. and it does not further their cause. though leaking these tapes does further someone's cause.

That is EXACTLY what they want to hear and see. Evil is deception at it's finest.

Not sure I catch your meaning here at all.

But if thinking like an american is becoming a paranoid fuck for everything, loading my kids up with guns so we all can feel safe until the kids kill eachother with them, I think I'll pass. This piece is fear-mongering with a piece from a guy whose job is to come up with scenarios. Had I been american, I'd be far more worried about my kids in school being killed in the next school shooting, than rumours that Al Qaeda may be up to something in the US. Seeing the low probability of either happening to me and mine, I'd say not to worry, and hence terrorists lose. The way american media plays it, terrorism wins every day by spreading fear and paranoia.

    they being?

and by deception do you mean something like invading a sovereign nation through surreptitious means? does that qualify as evil? or merely a necessary evil? and if so what's the difference?

If you bothered to watch the show, he mentioned the seriousness of school shootings, and there was a discussion about school shooting scenerios.

You can say it's fear-mongering all you want, but it happened, and to me, i think it's great that someone is actually publicizing Bresnan...and wants to inform us. if informing people is hatemongering, then damnit, i'm full of hate! if you want to keep your neck in the sand, great, but us hate-mongerors love information. never would have heard of this story if it was up to abc, nbc, cbs, or cnn.

My point is: That kind of shit already happens in the US. Why should it be any worse if it were islamists doing it? And Breslan is quite different, as that is actually more or less next to the combat-zone in Chechnya.

All I'm saying is that this guy's paid to worry about far-out scenarios. But when he seems to say that a terrorist act against a school in the US will have nuclear impact, then he is off his rocker. Period. Yes, it would suck, but it wouldn't spell the end of the world either. And why go public with it (as opposed to just doing his job in his office) if not to spread fear? Public information? Just how does that help anyone? "They might come kill your kids!" That is fearmongering, if anything is.

    Yuck

The kids dying in Iraq are killed by terrorists. Unless you think the US military is doing market suicide bombings you have no point.

NO, that shit doesn't happen already in US schools Dan.

Exactly what do you think a terrorists act is supposed to look like?
Is there such a thing as terrorism and terrorists?
Are all terrorists justified in their actions?
Is there any terrorists scenario that you can envision actually occuring?

    Looking forward to your answers.

No? I think I hear of at least 1 new school shooting over there a year. And it's not like it's unheard of bad shit happening over there among americans, you seem to have a knack for it, or at least the most publicized.

My point is either way that this is fear-mongering. Period.

    Peace? I try.

Maybe the batteries in your remote were dead and you just thought you were actually searching different channels for this story. This story was all over the news for days and days on all network new media outlets.

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/04/russia.putin/index.html

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the hostage massacre in Beslan an attack on the entire country and made a surprising admission of weakness in the face of terrorism.

Speaking to his nation in a televised address Saturday, the Kremlin leader said the Soviet Union's collapse had left the country unable to react to attacks and warned: "Weak people are beaten."

Putin said the government must develop more effective ways of securing itself and improving its actions against terrorists.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

why don't you ask the US government what a terrorist attack looks like. they've been involved in enough terrorist action to be able to give you a clear picture.

NO, terrorists are NOT justified in their actions. but that doesn't mean we just ignore their motivation as insane or whatever. these things don't happen in vacuum. there is always a cause.

Haha, you're nuts. You think you can merely disregard the problems going on in the world and cast of the terrorists as crazy bastards? Sometimes everything has a cause and you can be sure that terrorism doesn't happen without a reason (that doesn't mean it's justified).
  • one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter...

An over used and cliche...that is until you really start to think about it and understand it.

It's actually a condition called "human being on planet earth".

This is where people minds fail miserably in their understanding of the situation.

Self justification of intolerance, racism, and hatred out of fear.

All happily spun into fervor and reinforced by the media.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
