No one has heard of the chinese fur farms? Literally millions of dogs and cats are skinned alive in china and their fur sold to various countries in europe and other parts of the world. Beating 50,000 of them over the head is actually a bit more humane than what normally goes on over there.

If the US found out that 50,000 cattle had mad cow disease, we would shoot them all in a second and nobody would have a problem with it. Would anyone here want 50,000 dogs roaming the streets, just waiting to attack your kid.

china has very bad dog policies in general. it doesn't surprise me. they have breed bans and they will kill dogs over a certain weight as a policy matter.

all 50,000 dogs didn't *have* rabies though...

if they did, then yes, killing them would be the appropriate course of action.
