You cannot elect a man who calls someone a macaca!
This race is making me very nervous, I wonder when we will really find out who won.

after the recount.make sure the fortune that you seek...is the fortune that you need0 -
6,708 votes separate the 2 candidates with Webb (D) in the lead and 99% precincts reporting.
Nail bitter for sure, but it looks really great for the Dems to take control of the Senate.0 -
no shit. this doesn't surprise me though, with all the many redneck mentalities still so prevalant there.
come on Virginia, ya'll gotta be good for something!*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well, one thing they were good at was amending the constitution to block gay marriage.

I just don't understand with everything going on in this country that gay marriage brings out the voters.A Compliment For Us wrote:Well, one thing they were good at was amending the constitution to block gay marriage.0

How then do you explain Robert Byrd in West Virginia? What's that about? My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

My comment addressed what they are good at, not what they are good for. I don't know how old you are so I have no idea how long ago you were there. I just disagree with the comment about it being predominately redneck. I think VA is emerging as being more representative of the mid-atlantic states rather than with the South - especially if you look at the recent elections. Presidency in 04 was rather close, two successive Democratic governors etc. Sen. John Warner should be careful in the future - especially if Mark Warner decides to run for that spot. Granted, these candidates are more socially conservative democrats but it is still a change. While passing the marriage ban may be seen as a still being backwards or redneck, VA is taking baby-steps in the opposite direction. Complete change will take some time.Is a Compliment For You.
