"Appeaser" is a word many right wingers just learned, and now it's the hot word for 2008 like "flip flopper" was in 2004. Do they know what it means? No.

Here's an example, "George Bush appeased the Saudi's and Osama Bin Laden himself when he shifted his attention from hunting down Osama and went into Iraq.".
  • The only thing Obama appeases is the AIPAC lobby, and US citizens that want to win the "war on terror" but have peace. I like his diplomatic approach, but he's not striking at the root....just flailing away at the branches.

Neo conservatism and the PNAC manifesto will thrust this world into global conflict and perpetual war. It's all there in black and white and is being carried out to the letter.

I hope Obama has a huge secret he's not telling us about, but that's a like betting your future to long shot to an unknown....and just hoping...too risky. Face value change backed by a long history of patriotic and constitutional integrity, and crystal clear policy is the way to go....and we all know who that candidate is.

About the only thing that this administration (and the republican party) have done well in the last 10 years, has been marketing. Their repetitive use of buzzwords, and framing EVERY issue somehow in terms of "patriotism", have been amazingly successful with a public that refuses to dig a fraction of an inch below the surface on issues.

What Obama actually said was the Iran was not a threat to the *degree* that the former Soviet Union was when it was a threat. That is true. The former Soviet Union was chock full of armed nukes. Iran, currently, does not have the nuclear arsenal that the USSR had. Obama is right. What he actually said is true. But, anti-Dems like to make hay over the statement by taking it out of context and saying things were said that were not. It's a very Republican little sound bite that spreads as if it were truth, although, like nearly all Republican sound bites, it's a total lie. So what sticks is that Obama is an appeaser or that GWB is a compassionate conservative. People...when GWB moves his lips, the man is lying an overwhelming percentage of the time. If anyone's an appeaser, it's Bush who appeases anyone with any power at all, and kicks dogs with no teeth, like Iraq.

    Ok. Whatever. Appeaser.

Ahmadinejad has said that Israel should be blown off the map and that the Holocaust never existed. He stated gays did not exist in Iran and he is pursuing a nuclear bomb.

Yeah that guy isn't a threat.

    "wiped off the map"
isn't this the 60th anniversary of palestine being wiped off the map?

    "nuclear bomb?"
nuclear power ... see article V of the npt
is israel a signature of the npt?
    does israel have nuclear weapons?

i'm a liberal ..so don't make me defend a religious piece of shit like ahmadinejad .... so come correct

Obama reassures Jewish voters over his name, faith, policy

At a meeting at Bnai Torah Synagogue in Boca Raton, north of Miami, Obama denied that he was a Muslim and asked voters not to judge him because of his "funny name" or because he was African-American, but on his policies.

Obama said he had "always been pro-Israel" and insisted his offer to talk with the leaders of Iran did not mean he did not recognize the threat that country posed to the Jewish state

"I know how much Israel craves peace and as president I pledge to make every effort to help achieve that peace and support Israel's right to exist and be safe," he added.

Obama said he would not talk to the leaders of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas or Lebanon's Syrian-backed opposition, Hezbollah, but said that they had become more powerful under Bush's watch.

"Nothing Bush has done has helped Israel. As president I would do everything in my power to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons and insist that they stop threatening Israel," he said.

People in the parking lot were handing out flyers saying Obama was a Muslim, but he said: "That's not true."

One member of the congregation said he would vote for the senator if his name was Barry, not Barack.

"Actually, as a kid, I was called Barry. But as I got older I decided to acknowledge my Kenyan heritage and use my true name, Barack," Obama replied.
