Pat Robertson Converts on 'Global Warming
Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said on Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.
"We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels," Robertson said on his "700 Club" broadcast. "It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air."
This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the U.S. East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was "the most convincing evidence I've seen on global warming in a long time."

i was actually surprised to read this from robertson; however, i did see an interview with him on cnn or something and the guy isn't an idiot and he seems to really be a thinker...he's steadfast in his religious beliefs and he's unapologetic about that.

i don't really follow the religious celebrity circuit up here ... in fact, there really is no canadian equivalent ...
i have heard of a bigger christian movement to address the environment ... something that gets lost often ...

i was pretty skeptical when i read this... i worked with college football and wrestling and no one came close. if you read about this "feat". he prob only pushed the weight about 8 inches. And the position he was in, he had a great mechanical advantage to do this. He even said in the article he didn't do a full leg press. He took the weight, so he says, from a resting position to a little bit off the resting position... i'm still pretty skeptical but with the above setup and distance, it's poss.
yeah I think it's something like the green christian movement or something. Which, imo, is something that christians should be doing (as everyone should be). I don't think people should be surprised that christians are a part of caring for the environement...although i understand why people are surprised.
Well, think of the Ice Age as Earth's cure for Global Warming. Once all the ice caps have melted, then the temperature of the oceans goes up? *note: I have no clue, just guessing*
That would sort of make sense - once the oceans and weather streams are in flux, then I guess the chance for another ice age is greater... If you factor in volcanoes and the ash the spew into the atmosphere all going off because of global warming, then I guess that effect may alter the residual cooling of the planet as well.

No, Time Magazine and a couple of random scientists thought this hypothesis was valid. It was not an accepted theory by a concensus of scientists, nor was it discussed much in scientific literature or journals.
This hypothesis has been discussed, but it is unlikely because more inoslation would be trapped inside the earth and therefore keeping it warm.
