will the american public blame McCain or themselves. some people here have said that mcCain has not talked about issues while Obama has. if mcCain does win the election without talking about issues what does that say about the american public?

It doesn't say much about us.
There was a journalist on Morning Joe this morning saying that basically McCain's strategy lately (and what they've had success with), is just flooding the media with as much stuff as they can, with no regards to it's accuracy. They have learned that there are no penalties to putting out false or inaccurate info, so they will keep going with it.My whole life

it says what i've suspected for too long. americans are not very bright, are very lazy, and have no attention span for anything other than paparrazzi style soundbytes and histrionic "journalism" like the lipstick nonsense.and like that... he's gone.0 -

Those are some truth filled words right there!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The American public could only blame themselves for voting McCain/Palin into office. 4 more years of a Republican President would be catastrophic.
Obama can not lose this election.0 -

I am almost to a point that things are so fucked up right now that I feel like fine, if they win they deserve this bullshit they created.. let them clean up this fucking mess... but then I realize how much more fucked up they can get it and realize we, as Americans will be the ones paying the price for 4 more years of bullshit decisions and I carry on the fight!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was really hard to accept after 2000, and 2004 elections.
But...there is just too much at stake this time around.
We have to change course here and get back on track.
A McCain presidency would be a complete disaster.0 -
I would steer clear of the inner cities when Obama loses this election... Which he will by a narrow margin... But this time it will get real ugly...the Minions0

Things are so polarized right now. I live in California, and out here there are a few pockets of right-wing bubbles (Orange County, redneck towns like Bakersfield, etc.). But for the most part, people are pretty unified against 4 more years of this crap. Which is of course how most of the rest of the world feels. The polls in Europe clear -- if McCain wins, we will continue to be looked at from afar as a bunch of islationist, war-mongering yokels who can't run things at home.
But then if you look at the middle of this country, it's all Republicans. Even after 8 years of this crap. It boggles my mind, but I guess it's "not about the issues" as McCain's campaign says.
If McCain wins, there is a part of me that thinks it is just the inevitable decline of this country. You know, all great powers rise and fall. We may have hit our peak in the 80's or something. It might be a pessimistic view, but if this is what our country wants, this is what it gets.San Diego 10/25/00, Mountain View 6/1/03, Santa Barbara 10/28/03, Northwest School 3/18/05, San Diego 7/7/06, Los Angeles 7/9/06, 7/10/06, Honolulu (U2) 12/9/06, Santa Barbara (EV) 4/10/08, Los Angeles (EV) 4/12/08, Hartford 6/27/08, Mansfield 6/28/08, VH1 Rock Honors The Who 7/12/08, Seattle 9/21/09, Universal City 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, San Diego 10/9/09, Los Angeles (EV) 7/8/11, Santa Barbara (EV) 7/9/11, Chicago 7/19/13, San Diego 11/21/13, Los Angeles 11/23/13, 11/24/13, Oakland 11/26/13, Chicago 8/22/16, Missoula 8/13/18, Boston 9/2/18, Los Angeles 2/25/22 (EV), San Diego 5/3/22, Los Angeles 5/6/22, 5/7/22, Imola 6/25/22, Los Angeles 5/21/24, [London 6/29/24], [Boston 9/15/24]0 -

Yeah, I know. I was troubled by a column in last week's paper in Philly that said this:
If McCain wins, look for a full-fledged race and class war, fueled by a deflated and depressed country, soaring crime, homelessness - and hopelessness!

I would like to think that won't happen but who knows what will happen after election day.- Busted down the pretext

yes, I happen to be associated through my work with about 30 minority families. We had a BBQ on Labor Day weekend and several of my associates talked about such...
Then I was also told this is just fear mongering.

No, it's just poor people talking and it just doesn't matter at all what I believe.
I can say that some of the most vocal are very emotional already when they consider the potential for a McCain victory.the Minions0 -
Hate to say it, but this is basically it in a nutshell for a lot of people...

You're kidding right? Almost everything the Obama campaign has floated about Palin since the convention has been a lie, or at best, a distorted half-truth.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

How many electoral votes does Europe count for? Surely, if Obama wins Europe, it ought to be able to carry him to the White House ...
