This picture came from the Republican National Convention just moments after John McCain claimed education was "a civil rights issue of this century."

the best thing about all those "hand made" posters in the RNC ... they were made by the RNC ... I heard that on *Fox* ... so, it must be true. ;)

I'm sure it is. I collect such pictures to show my students.

They're like visual cautionary tales: real life examples of why learning English matters.

Here's one I took in my neighborhood just last week:

    For those without access:

The city recently repaved the sidewalks; one of the local bards decided to use the fresh cement as his medium.

    He inscribed, "Leah is beautyful."

That was posted on here years ago. It was talked about and teased a little. Then we all moved on and it's not like vedder is making the same mistake now (well I don't know for sure) I mean i'm sure he knows the diff. Unlike the other pics of other people and those signs/placards

Or maybe it was about the BMW/Benz automobile war lmao!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught that. That was a bright spot in a RIVETING speech.

Right, it seems like an honest slip. Unlike some of the other errors we have seen.

So to tie that photo with some of the others, to my mind, does not make much sense. It's a visual error I believe, and I would not be surprised to find that eddie vedder was not the artist for that.

But I could be wrong on all counts. I don't really care. I'm just joining in for fun.

That's almost as bad as an illiterate tattoo artist (who I assume would also vote Republican).

I was confused by the guy waiving his sign that said "Environmentalists for McCain" while chanting Drill Now Drill Now Drill Now after McCain was discussing his plans to drill offshore.
