Heh, good show on winning the eurovision. I havent heard the song at all, but the image alone was worth them winning it. Just to shake things up a bit. I am suspicious to their sound though, as they cited Norwegian glam-rock contestant the last time Wig Wam as influence... Cause, Wig Wam sure does suck. They are posing as poser rockers, I mean come on.
But a monster winning the eurovision. Kinda gives a true face to the whole deal in my view.As long as the infinitely annoying Carola doesn't win I'm happy.
Peace

lol. well guessed.indeed, PJ is my favourite band of all times!!
yeah, as far as I know they've only done one show here. and back then, I had never heard of them since I was very little, 6-7 years old.
and on this tour, no shows (but we're still hoping for the another tour they've "promised"), which bummed me out big time!but I can understand it, cause the chedule is very intense as it already is.
I have no clue about how many fans are there in Finland, I certainly do not know even one! so I dunno, that can have an effect..
of course I'm bummed about the fact that at least in the near future I won't be able to see my fave band live but then again.. I haven't been a fan of PJ's for that long (it took me a while to discover them) and there are a lot of people who have waited for longer than me.
hope that's good enough, I might add something later but I'm in a hurry now.
Thank you, for your post...
Yeah I understand... but how long are you a PJ fan, I mean since which year?
Yeah.. I met a finnish girl, on internet a few months ago... and I started talking about my favourite band... PJ... and then she asked : who are them?
I was like.. what??? she never ever heard about them in her life.. and she´s 17 years-old... I was so shocked...at the time...
But she´s an amazing girl... now she defenetely knows PJ... but doesn´t like the more hard-rocking songs... one time I sent her the song blood... and she said she hated it... lol...
So keep up the good work... and once again... very very nice thread!!!"Vocês são do caralho" Eddie Vedder : Lisbon, 04/09/2006 - best day of my life0 -
Here's a question for you. Did you sign the petition to boycut the finish tabloid that published pictures of Lordi without masks?
I think it's hysterical that over 110.000 ppl signed it. If you send out a petition to ban animal transport for more than 12 hours (i.ex.) about 10.000 ppl would sign. But when you publish a pic of some rocksingers face the public are rioting!Roskilde 30-06-00

lol. thanks.
if you wanna hear/see it, you should be able to find a video from YouTube.
I don't think I've ever heard anything from Wig Wam. I like their name though.
lol. you're right!there's gonna be a huge party for Lordi tonight in Helsinki. I mean, they've even built a stage for them on the marketplace. and there was a Lordi-mask on a daily paper today too.

I haven't signed it, it hasn't crossed my path.
although I haven't I still think that what the magazine did was rude. the members of the band had CLEARLY expressed their hope that pictures of them without masks would not be released and that people would let them stay as sort of fantasy-figures.
plus, I don't like the magazine anyways.

I started listening to them in 1998.. still remember... live on two legs... when I first heard it I didn´t like it too much... but in 1999... it was the explosion to me... at that year I was absolutely addicted on them... I bought all their studio records on that year(crazy year)...
And then after 8 years... I´m gonna finally see them live for the first time!!!

So here it goes a couple of questions:
Do you like to live in Finland??
Isn´t it too much cold to live??
And that finnish girl... who I know... is always complaining about the fact that young people drink too much in there... do you also complain about that?
Sorry for this so many questions...

hey hey.don't worry, I enjoy answering questions.
I love living in Finland! this is my home country and this will always be my home country.I'm really glad that I was fortunate enough to be born here, because life here is great and the society is supportive towards it's citizens. I'm grateful for everything I have cause in many countries people aren't as fortunate. I try to keep that in mind.
lol. no, it's not too cold.(where do you live by the way?) well sure, it's pretty darn cold in the winter but luckily we've got good clothes to keep us warm.
and believe it or not, it does get hot here during the summer. Finland is not a country of eternal winter!
many young people do drink here. and I have been one of them. (well, I do drink still but at least I'm legally allowed to now) many kids get drunk for the first time in their lives at the age of 13-14, which is really young.
now that I'm older I can see how foolish it was for me to drink when I was younger. one of the biggest issues is that obviously cause underaged kids can't go to bars to drink they hang out in parks etc. as there are many young kids in the parks, there are also many not-so-young people there - drug dealers and other people kids should not have anything to do with. during my "years in parks" I was offered different drugs many times. luckily I was never tempted since a friend of mine abused drugs at one point (she was taking all kinds of pills) and I saw what happened to her and what kind of people she hung out with. (she's out of it now)
what I'm happy about is that the adults of our society - the parents and the police - have noticed this issue of young kids drinking and in many cities there are more policemen patroling the parks and streets on weekend nights.
I've got two littlesisters that are in the risk age to start drinking. well, the other sister turns 18 this year so she's soon allowed to drink and I know she's smart. but the other sister is 16, I know she's never been drunk in her life but her friends have. I know that she too is smart but I know how much of an influense friends can be. I've told her how stupid it is to go get pissed at some park.
I know that kids are always gonna be experimenting with alcohol before they're old enough to do it legally. but I'm just hoping their drinking could be less about getting wasted cause that seems to be the goal of way too many kids aged 14-17.
hmm. I think that's about it."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -

I live in Portugal.. so that´s why I thought that it was too much cold to live in there... for example today it´s gonna be like 35 degrees...
I believe that many people not living in those countries... see the nordic people as boring... is this true or is it just a myth?
Yeah and about the Lisbon, shows I´m so excited.. and besides.. this crowd here is nuts.. and PJ they just love Portugal... last time... in 2000... the band was here like 4 or 5 days... and so many things happened to them.. lol.. Eddie went surfing... someone saw him on a bar.. the day before the show... he asked the barman for some guitar and he started playing last kiss.. and then everybody that was on the bar.. was like : Holy shit that´s EDDIE VEDDER!!
There´s a couple of folks... who even found him shopping.. and started talking with him... they took photos with him... very nice...
And oh yeah.. Eddie can speak portuguese!!! lol... in the Brasilian shows he speaks portuguese... very good... Eddie...
I fricking love this band!!!
And one more time.. thanks again.. you seem a very nice person...

ah right, makes perfect sense now.
you're talking Celsius, right? we don't get that hot days but in the summer it can be 25-30 degrees here too.
I suppose it's true (from what I've heard at least) that many people think Scandinavian folks are boring and even somewhat rude. especially us Finns.
well, we don't talk that much and many Finns get easily intimidatet is situations with people they do not now.
so that might be why.
but I think today things have changed a lot, due to the speed in which this world of ours races forward.
we're really not mean!
that sounds really amazing.

oh btw, did you hear that the magazine issued a written apology to the band on their website. I haven't read it, I don't take that big of an interest on this matter, I just think it was the right thing to do."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! Hi, eMMI... you´re welcome...
So judging by you and that finnish girl I know...
I guess the world is wrong... and that are very nice, and amazing people living in scandinavian countries...(not boring and rude people)
Yep.. I was talking about Celsius...
Sometimes here in summer we get more than 40 degrees... just crazy...
If you don´t mind here´s more question for you...
Why do you think PJ.. don´t tour much in scandinavian countries... when compared to south europe??
you think they have some issue with scandinavian countries??
Cause this is not the first time.. they tour in south europe... and skip nordic countries... in the No Code tour they did exactly the same
And.. just woow... everybody in there speaks english so well as you do?
Cause that girl who I know... also speaks english very well...

well, aren't you kind.
I have no idea why PJ hasn't toured around here much.
maybe it would require more complicated actions to book gigs here or something.. to be honest, I do not have a clue.
but I'm hoping they will tour here in between albums or something, as they have hinted in some interviews.
well, obviously the language skills vary depending on the person. so not all people talk English as good as I do. and some are waaaayyyy better than me.
but English is a language the majority of Finnish kids start studyiing at the age of 9-10. that is when they're on 3rd grade. that year the kids/parents need to decide what language will they want to study as an extensive language. they can choose English, French or some other language (I can't remember all the options) and many choose English.
as for me, I think English is a great language and I don't find it to be too hard. but I have a friend (he's a year older than me) who thinks English lacks all logic completely and he's seriously struggling with all foreign languages."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! Hi eMMI, you´re very kind too...
Maybe someday I´ll visit your country... that finnish girl, has already invited me..
But you know... Finland is just a "little" bit expensive... just a little bit... lol...
So since I´m college student... I can´t afford that trip now...
So who knows... someday...
Jesus I just hope not to freeze there... lol... just kidding...
Oh, yeah.. I don´t know if you know them but my cousin just saw Alice in Chains in Lisbon two days ago... just fucking sick!!!
Now he´s so excited about the PJ show...
I´m already imagining how it´s gonna be...
Everybody is gonna be moshing, and jumping ... bodies flying in the air(altough I know it is forbidden to do stage diving in this tour, or body diving I´m not sure how is this called)...
P.S.(This message is for Eddie, lol)
By the way Eddie, you´re getting old man.. remeber Cascais 1996? Porch? you did stage diving here.. you jumped from some sound support over 5 metres from the ground... and you broke your head ... and you ended up in a hospital... ahaha... and when you dive into the crowd everybody just went nuts...
So why no stage diving in this tour????)"Vocês são do caralho" Eddie Vedder : Lisbon, 04/09/2006 - best day of my life0
