Obama should have busted Johnbo out on how he lead his republican congress members to adding 100 Billion + in pork to get them to vote for the rescue package."Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)

i'm ashamed that this is the 2nd to last debate and it turned out this way.... this format sucked and didn't allow the 2 of them to interact enough so we could get a real judge of character...instead we have to rely on comments like "my friend" and bad jokes. I consider myself an Obama supporter, but NEITHER seemed Presidential tonight IMO. :("I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"0

We could have called him, since he did not want to go to DC unless he was needed.96 Randall's Island II

This debate was pointless. If it did anything, it pointed out how boring and out of touch McCain really is.“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”0

Funny, I switched from that (in disgust at how stupid it was) to Fox News, where they are discussing how the "that one" comment was a stunning, awesome blow that the they expect the GOP to pick up and run with.
The media sucks about as hard as this debate did.0 -

I think even if you disagree about supporting Obama or McCain, we can all agree on is that these news channels suck.96 Randall's Island II

That would be a very, very, very stupid idea. I'm only halfway through so far, but that's been by far McCain's worst moment.0 -

I certainly do. I was just illustrating how bad all the networks were doing...
It's really sad. We're got the first amendment, and not a single network with the balls to make anything of it, nor a public demanding that they at least pretend to.0 -
i take back the William Ayers comment. i'd have rather seen the Kool-Aid Man crash thru the wall. it seemed like everyone there was drinking the Kool-Aid anyway.0

I will say, however, that I am surprised even FoxNews is kind of wondering what the fuck just happened, how McCain managed to do nothing to help his own cause.
That has to be pretty damning news for the Republican party, especially since O'Reilly was really hammering on how McCain needed to really step it up tonight.

yeah, Fox is indeed stunned ... about his $300b house buyback plan while he's "freezing spending" ... at some point, I wonder if Fox may cut and run from McCain, calling him too liberal.
Of couse, the second sentence out of Sean Hannity's mouth was "Ayers" and "air raiding villigers" ....
man, it may APPEAR to the public that Obama actually won this debate ..."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

I noticed as soon as it switched over to Hannity, they were discussing things which have been made key to the McCain campaign without recognizing the fact that they didn't come up once tonight (specifically: Ayers).
Regardless of bias, how does one ignore that and not at least say, "hey, um, what the fuck, John? You sort of disappeared on that one..."
Fox's typical reaction non-withstanding (which tends to be 'let's support the republicans no matter what'), it has been the most interesting news cast to me so far. I think it's very telling about the state of McCain's campaign and the trouble it may find itself in.
EDIT: Of course, the Fox viewers still called it 86 to 12 in favor of McCain. Then again, I have my own questions for any network about the people who actually send in text messages to news stations about this shit. When did this turn into American Fucking Idol? Like the election is some sort of 'reality tv' program...
EDIT 2: MSNBC has pretty much the same numbers...in the other direction. There's no way either candidate did well enough to convince eighty-five percent of anyone that they should clearly and without question be President based on that debate. McCain did nothing but alienate the base with his $300B buy-out-loans plan, while, on the other hand, Obama did nothing at all.0 -
did you notice- that McCain still did not look at Obama.
He did look at the people who asked the questions...
Again, that level of respect is not there. On another thread, it was said that these people have to work together after the elections.
It looks like things will be same old same once the elections are over- the separation of the parties, and no communication, and no forward movement for this government.0 -
foxnews.com
who won the 2nd presidential debate?
Obama 61%
McCain 39%"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)
