I can't help it. I bust a gut laughing over this.
The absurdity that the best a "god" could do, would be to appease and satisfy my earthly and mortal lust and sexual desires; gets me everytime...lol:D
The notion of a "god" who caters to our mortal desires and lust, seems awfully contrived by ..........a male human being. Does it not?
So if the person receiving the virgins is a virgin themselves. I wonder how many eons in eternity are spent just fumbling around, trying to figure out what to do.You've changed your place in this world!0 -

I hope bras in heaven simply fly off on their own. Them bras are like trying to crack a high security safe...lol.
Buttons, hooks, latches.....cups...straps.....access codes....whew....I'm sweating just thinking about it:D0 -
'The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book "Islam at the cross road" (Page 8): "History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated." '
What a revelation. Thanks. I'm now convinced. How does 'De Lacy O'Leary' know this? How does the author quoting 'De Lacy O'Leary' KNOW he was right when he wrote this?
You know, I support eleviating prejudice against Muslims. I do. And I support banishing stereotypes in any religion. But really, Muslims have GOT to stop this. I mean come on. Using tripe posts like this to defend their faith is NOT HELPING them. I have had Muslim friends, but none of them made any effort to defend their faith beyond one word answers. Worse than the Christian fundamentalists.
And don't start me on the international response to the Pope's comments. Come off it. A religion of peace? Well start demonstrating it then. Go on. Yes, you, I said demonstrate peace. Peace, remember? People insult Jesus daily all around me and you don't see me burning mosques or walking protest marches about it. Water off a duck's back. Love others. That's peace.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

It is unfortunate that this thread ended up this way. Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Atheists, etc. we all have to live with each other and the world is getting smaller for better or worse (depending on how you want to look at it). We can choose to understand each other or stereotype and pigeonhole, if you want to choose the latter, then those who are targeted by your hate in the end won't be the only ones getting hurt. Those who produce and prepetuate hate will also hurt themselves in the end. I feel like breaking out into Elvis Costello now...but I just have to say that it is just so ignorant and easy to criticize and ridicule and so hard to open up a book, open your mind and just learn and not label.
JaneNY I just have to say that I understand your husband is Muslim and I don't want to play amateur psychiatrist, but how you feel about Islam goes beyond its teachings. I think you just have some sort of fear guiding you, forcing you to be closed. I think you loved someone enough to marry him and part of him is his religion. I think you just fear, for whatever reason I truly have no idea, going beyond that and really understanding and in the least not ridiculing your husband's faith.0 -

The thread ended up this way because the 'answers' to the questions are not well written, and some of the responses stem from the writer's assumptions and personal opinions, with no documentation.
You don't want to play amateur psychiatrist? Fine, then don't. You know nothing about me or my life.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

I totally disagree, I think that the responses have absolutely nothing to do with the writer, they seem to be deep seated and full of hate and that just doesn't come from one post from a misguided writer.
I have no idea why you are offended, I was sharing something I learned from other women in your situation. I think you have your mind made up long before you read my posts, no matter what I write, I know you will take the wrong way, so I will no longer address you. Don't get too happy.0 -
