I guess they didn't have the "abstinence only" education seminar for this school. :rolleyes:

Nothing should shock me anymore, but that they did this in front of other kids in the class. Jeez.

5th-graders accused of sex in La. school

Students left in classroom unsupervised

NEW ORLEANS - Five fifth-grade students face criminal charges after authorities said four of them had sex in front of other students in an unsupervised classroom and kept a classmate posted as a lookout for teachers.

The students were arrested Tuesday at the Spearsville school in rural north Louisiana, authorities said. Two 11-year-old girls, a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year old boy were charged with obscenity, a felony. An 11-year-old boy, the alleged guard, was charged with being an accessory.

"After 44 years of doing this work, nothing shocks me anymore," said Union Parish Sheriff Bob Buckley. "But this comes pretty close."

Authorities said the incident happened March 27 at the school, which houses students from kindergarten through 12th grade. A high school teacher normally watches the fifth-grade class at the time, but went to an assembly for older students and the class was inadvertently left unattended, Buckley said.

The class, which had around 10 other students, was alone for about 15 minutes, he said.

"When no teacher showed up, the four began to have sex in the classroom with the other elementary students in the classroom with them," he said.

It took a day for authorities to find out about the incident. A student who had been in the class told a high school student about it the next day, Buckley said. The student told a teacher, and school officials notified the sheriff's office. Detectives began questioning students Thursday.

School officials did not return calls seeking comment.

The students, who were not identified because of their age, were released to their parents after their arrests, Buckley said. They will next be arraigned in juvenile court. A message seeking comment from the district attorney was not immediately returned.

Buckley said it was unclear what the children could face in penalties.

    Wow, that's a small classroom size (total of 15 kids approx), were they special ed, or mainstream? That's pretty bizarre behaviour that they would just up and have sex willy nilly in the classroom because they've been left unsupervised, I'd love to know the background on these kids!!

    i used to teach in an elementary school...and just the mere thought of children at the age of 5th grade engaging in sexual activity....*shudders*.......wtf. completely sad, bizarre....and kinda scary.

    Humans are sexual from birth.

    yes they are...but to engage in sexual intercourse at such a young age....forget the fact that they did it in front of a whole class of students!.....is just not good. BEING sexual and actually ENGAGING in sexual intercourse....not even close to being the same thing, and that is what i was referencing.

    Wow. SO glad I don't have kids. It's obvious they lack proper parental guidance, otherwise they wouldn't know how to go about such a thing, but if my child was one to witness something so ludacris, I'd have that school's balls in a vice beginning with the idiot teacher who left them unattended. They're 5th graders! Appalling.

    incredible, holy toledo, thats dam crazy..i'll make it short here..
    im guessing they have watched porn, see the magazines, perhaps even
    have had sex way before this situation..and to have other kids watch is
    quite disturbing..these kids need a swift kick to the pants..
    the teacher/teachers fumbled big time..these kids have been conditioned
    by someone/something/somehow..parents? older bro/sis? older friends?
    relatives? strangers? who frickin knows..it was a learned behavior i am sure..
    i also wonder if they achieved satisfaction..maybe they were just naked and
    did something like oral sex..was it full blow penetration? whatever the case its way outta line..

    a major repercussion from this? anyone? pregnancy, well depending on how far it all went, nevertheless it's just a very sad story.

    didnt even think of that, though not very probable, but still something to put this in perspective. its hard for tennage girls to be mothers. those girls arent even in middle school

    granted some kids mature earlier than others...but do 11 n 12 yr olds even ovulate or produce viable sperm? but that would truly be a nightmare...an 11 yr old girl pregnant.

    just...wow. i didn't even get sex ed classes until 6th grade. and to have sex in front of the class.... unreal.

    It's entirely possible for someone 11 to get pregnant as long as she is menstruating. What is so strange about this, is not so much the ages (rare but not unheard of at all) as the fact that they did it in front of others and in a group. I have not heard of anything like that before.

    im thinkin a girl can become preganant when she starts her menstrul cycle..
    a friends daughter is 12 and just started her monthly menstrul thingy..
    i asked my friend, hey um, is that the average age, shes a female friend of mine, she'd know..she replied some of her friends havent started yet but some have..i know over the years ive heard on the news of a 12 yr old being pregnant..as far as boys havin sperm, im guesin yea they have sperm way earlier than 5th grade..perhaps at birth..guessing this because us men have sperm till we are no longer breathing..so maybe at birth we have sperm, maybe small amounts..i dunno..and sex education class really is beside the point @ this day and age..i had sex education class in 6th grade to..i didnt really learn anything new..already knew most of it..these kids didnt learn this in a sex ed class..it was terrible how they discovered sex..

    they were taught or conditioned in a progressive manor.. thats my theory..
    learned behavior by older folks..maybe they had porn dvd's..
    magazines..or maybe its a behavior their family does in the open..
    its a shame..these kids werent virgins is my opinion..and perhaps they were all so thrilled and excited to be partaking in sexual activity they were doin as kids do, lets tell and or show everybody what we discovered..pritty easy to figure out really..

    It's not only possible, it happens. mainly in thrid world countries when young girls are raped and become pregnant. I also believe the youngest person to give birth was under 8, but not sure on that one.
