How do you know they didn't? Do you have the inside track to Obama's legal team?RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:There is a deadline for a Dec 1st response. One would think they would at least say something either way.

Obama is really an African Muslim, run for your lives, the sky is falling, we've all been duped. He's a terrorist and he pals around with terrorist. He is putting together a bipartisan cabinet, I told you he was an African Muslim terrorist!!! Doom and gloom!!!
What a fucking joke.
Interesting picture you painted for yourself there. Let me know when you find someone that thinks that.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

Who cares. That's not the point. It's in the courts now.

RainDog wrote:Not the same "they," but there were questions. There's no dispute that McCain actually was born outside the U.S. The question was was he born on the military base or in a hospital in Panama? The question was rendered "moot," I believe, when it was declared that since both his parents were U.S. citizens, then he is a natural born U.S. citizen. That "offspring of a U.S. citizen" thing, for some reason, isn't enough where Obama is concerned.
Well, actually he was born to American parents (both of them) on a U.S. navy base in Panama. The Panama Canal Zone was American territory when McCain was born there. So basically he was born in the US to American parents.
McCain, who's nationality and birth certificate were questioned as well, asked legal experts to put the whole thing to rest. They sought it out, he provided his birth certificate.
Quite simple. So, this "extra Obama scrutiny" was also applied to McCain. The only difference is McCain acted quickly and put the thing to rest. Obama chose this himself, he had the power and means to nip this in the bud, he didn't. Like I said, foolish on his part. McCain handled it more intelligently.THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

Yes, it is their strategy. From Wikipedia:RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:There is a deadline for a Dec 1st response. One would think they would at least say something either way.
It seems the ignore route is their strategy.
"Although Berg claimed that the Court has required the respondents to reply by December 1, 2008, the Supreme Court's docket reveals that the respondents filed a waiver of their right to respond to Berg's petition.[9] This means the respondents will file no response at all, which is typical when frivolous petitions are filed in the Supreme Court."

No, Obama did the same thing. He released his "COLB," as the internets like to call it (Certificate of Live Birth). It's a computer generated copy that everyone gets when they request a birth certificate from the state. Hawaii has verified that it is legit. "Expert analysts" (i.e. anonymous internet posters) have declared that the COLB is a forgery, and so are demanding a long form. Only the COLB is not a forgery, so why should Obama comply with the "extra" demand?Collin wrote:Well, actually he was born to American parents (both of them) on a U.S. navy base in Panama. Well there it is then, which would probably explain why Berg seems to have dropped it judging by his website and the lack of updating it.

That's the thing, though. He's handled it the same way as every other presidential contender has and went no further. The "went no further" is the part that has all these "Expert Analysts" up in arms. Something's differently about Obama, it seems.Collin wrote:I never doubted that Obama was a US citizen. We're just looking at it from different perspectives, I guess. I think Obama's case isn't like 'every other presidential candidate' precisely because of all the rumours and slander. Indeed he went no further, this doesn't have me up in arms but I just think that maybe he should have taken it a little further to nip the whole thing in the bud. Instead he decided to treat this lightly, paying no further attention to it and hardly commenting on it. I think this approach has given his 'opponents' in this case more ammo, I think this will only confirm many people's prejudices and strengthen their distrust.THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

Well, I just listened to "the tape" where Obama's grandmother claims to have witnessed Obama's birth. First things first - she speaks in Swahili, so the whole conversation is through a translator. The audio is terrible. The "interviewer" - a one Ron McRae - mistakenly alternates between calling Obama her son (named Barack Obama) and her grandson (also named Barack Obama). Possible confusion over who he was talking about? Couldn't tell you, because the audio is so bad I had to read the "transcript (and take the transcript at it's word) of the translator. And, after listening for 5 minutes, the question is asked, and she responds (again, in Swahili, after being asked the question by a translator, who heard the question in English) that she was present for Obama's birth. At least that's what the transcript says (a transcript of a translator speaking in English on a bad recording relaying what someone said in Swahili). Then, the tape ends abruptly. They got their "yes" and they cut off the rest. Not exactly concrete evidence.RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:Interesting. What of the other claims?

As for the Indonesian citizenship? Well, Obama is not a citizen of Indonesia. He is a natural born citizen of the U.S., and therefore cannot have his citizenship changed by a step-father in another country. He was simply too young to legally renounce his U.S. citizenship. So, no matter what Indonesia thought of pre-10 year old Obama's citizenship, we here in the United States only recognize our own standards. As such, Obama is still a natural born U.S. citizen.0 -
I have to admit I still fail to understand why this type of thing is not verified before the elections so everyone can just shut up but I understand RainDog's point :Collin wrote:We're just looking at it from different perspectives, I guess. why should obama accept to be treated differently than others? this question is to be answered before he should consider giving the documents asked. But then again the whole thing is desperately stupid.0 -
From what I've seen of these "cases," they're padded in such a way that it doesn't matter what Obama's long form certificate says. They already "pre-disbelieve" the information on it. There's really nothing Obama can do to change these people's prejudices and distrust. In my opinion, the best thing he can do is what he did. Do only what every other presidential contender has done in the past and ignore the rest. Let these people twist in the wind. Anything else lends credibility to their claims.Collin wrote:We're just looking at it from different perspectives, I guess. The fact that you give any credence to a site so overtly against Obama, and you take it as valid points, shows just how ignorant you really are.RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:In any event, here are the outstanding arguments.... scroll down... exhibit a,b,c...

You are more increasingly becoming the laughing stock of this entire forum. You sir bring down the intelligence level of the entire internet by continually regurgitating from anti Obama and right winged conspiracy websites this clearly anti-Obama sentiment.0
