and will janne ahonen win at the olimpiads in turin?
why?! you're asking me why there are 1000 lakes?!
well, I do not know and there are actually 187 888 lakes.
I dunno about Janne."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -
mookie blaylock 10 wrote:that's awesome! i saw your post about the canadian olympic team and was curious about whether or not you were a canuck living in aus...this explains it. i know hockey is obviously big in finland, but how about aus?
as a side note, finland meets canada in the opening game of this year's world juniors on boxing day...should be a good one. good luck to your team eMMI !
yeah it was awesome. we were on a name-to-name basis, more to the point, they knew our names... we'd walk into the rink as they were leaving and here's jason spezza like "hey andy, tommy, steve, how you guys doing!"... we still remember him, i wonder if he remembers us?? hehe
hockey isn't big in aus, but is growing for sure. there's a link to the aussie hockey federation site at nhl.com, check it out.
an no, i'm not a canadian, aussie born and bred but i have a deep afinity for canada and it's people. the time i spent there was amazing and some of the people i met were nothing short of saints, at a time when i really needed them, and many of the people i met i'm still in contact with and intend to remain so for a long time to come. toronto is a second hometown to me, and canada on the whole is dear to my heartif you love somebody, set them free. if somebody loves you, don't fuck up0 -
you guys are really able to hold one's drink!!!
right??0 -

I'd have to say boxers. and I sure hope I'm right!
but I'm thinking that boxers cause it's sometimes fairly cold here..
at least all the men I know wear boxers.
panties or thongs.. well, that depends on the age of the girl. and of course on what she prefers.
and, of course, no problem."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -
Do people know about Aussie Rules Football (not soccer) in Finland eMMI?
Have u heard of Victoria Bitter???
Does anyone surf in Finland?Wave came crashing...0 -
a few answers while i'm here
boxers
panties
the lakes formed after the ice age when the ice started to melt and the weight of the ice had shaped the land so that some of it was lower and the water formed lakes to these spots
i think people know aussie rules exists but it's not shown here and definitely not played. even though there are leagues for american football and rugby also baseball and cricket from the more exotic sports but no aussie rules. sometimes they might show a few second clip at the end of sporting news and it looks wild.
don't think they sell VB here at least i've never seen it anywhere.
the baltic sea is so small and shallow the waves don't break too much. i know there are surfers here but they usually go elsewhere to surf like to portugal0 -

no problemo.
the summer in Finland lasts for about three months.(june, july, august)
the lenght of the day depends on the time of the year. right now the day is not that long but it's getting longer.
in the summer (Midsummer) we have the one day sun never sets and in the winter days are really short. actually ion Lapland in winter there's a day the sun never rises.
in the winter it's like I leave to school (before eight) in the morning and it's dark and then I come from school (at about 4-5) in the afternoon and it's dark again.
it's okay, it's good fun answering your questions."Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."0 -
