Sounds like he mispoke or was making a different point about people accusing him of being muslim.
People read too much into things. But, I'm sure Hannity is excited!

In all honesty, how? I can understand not supporting liberal economic policies, but how are they worse than John McCain's?

Call me crazy, but I feel that the same policies that given us a $482 billion deficit, a mortgage crisis, a failing education system, billions of dollars in debt, a failing health care system, Social Security & MediCare in need of help, a student loan crisis, and an economy that is barely growing and producing less jobs won't fix our problems. If the policies have failed us already, how are they going to help us?

That aside, the thought of Sarah Palin anywhere near the White House is a billion times more troubling. So is the hypocritical, pathetic attempt at being a "maverick" John McCain. Someone who has completely sold his soul to the Religious Right does not deserve to sit in the Oval Office.

Dude, since I wrote that post, even OBAMA has realized that his own economic plans are dangerous ... that taxing anybody during an economic downturn is a bad, bad, bad, bad, monumentally bad idea.

Remember the campaign promise to roll back the tax cut on the wealthiest Americans? Not gonna happen now.

    http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080907/D93228880.html

But hey, at least that campaign promise lasted all the way to September. Same can't be said about many of his other promises. Also, no word on how he plans to pay for his "universal everything" programs if he's not going to tax the shit out of people.

As for the Bush/McCain comparison ... inasmuch as a president's policies can "ruin an economy" -- I tend to believe a lot of this shit is more cyclical than anything else -- it wasn't Bush's tax policies that did it. It was his spending policies.

McCain wants to continue Bush's tax policies -- which, if we want to play this game, had a role in delaying an inevitable recession for seven years after 9/11 -- and discontinue Bush's liberal spending policies.

I am firmly against throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

  • That is all fine and good, as I also think Wright's sermons were pathetic, but do you also think the same about Palin's church?

They have hosted sermons on such topics as how the Jewish people have brought persecution on themselves by their failure to recognize Jesus for what he was.

The "sermon" you mention was by a one-time guest speaker ... not the 30-year, full-time pastor of the church.

    There is a difference.

You're absolutely right. It was a guest pastor who said that Palestinian bombers were actors of "judgment" against Jews in Israel. It's important to point that out.

Her permanent pastor only said that if you voted for John Kerry you were going to hell and that homosexuals could be cured.
