I sensed a subtle undertone to this film...I could be way off.

Yeah I got that from the movie aswell. It certainly doesn't shy away from making the point that afterall the effort...We still couldn't overcome the apathy and ignorance that plagued recent elections.

Although we were taking a huge step in the right direction by educating people and getting them involved...It still wasn't enough, we were still dealt another 4 years of Bush. It just shows the fustration of trying to start a ground level movement and the maximum effort that it acutally requires to get the majority (The Youth) off their asses and out to vote. It's not something that can be done half assed; especially when the country is so heavily divided and mostly uninformed.

The USA was almost like an abused wife in 2004. We had this administration that was beating us up and abusing us on all levels...Yet we decided to forgive them and take the Bush administration back in.

Perhaps it was Kerry's fault for not inspriing the youth?

Maybe if nothing else, Obama has been able to do what Kerry could not do....INSPIRE...

But...that chapter hasn't been written yet, so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Or take heed from the movie and get out there and MAKE IT HAPPEN; Write the chapter ourselves.

it would have been better if they did the repeat of the "two riders were approaching" line a few times, and then, went into "and the wind began to howl". this is what i think neil was gonna do...hard to tell though...

No, not that I recall. I was hoping as I was at both shows, but nada. However, I was also eating lunch and trying to work while watching it so I might have missed something.

that footage was stolen from the band, sadly. not to mention, discussion RE: '95 footage is considered taboo around these parts,...
I don't know what you're talking about ;) and I don't really understand your point. It was stolen so they won't release it now? Or it was stolen and it was the only copy and so they can't release it now? I really doubt that the sole copy was stolen...

    Perhaps, but:

"People want leadership, Mr. President, and in the absence of genuine leadership, they'll listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership. They're so thirsty for it they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand."

"Lewis, we've had presidents who were beloved, who couldn't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. People don't drink the sand because they're thirsty. They drink the sand because they don't know the difference."

the footage was stolen. there was no further clarification beyond that. the band didn't have a "spare" copy of the footage as the project was never completed,...

  • whats with the retards huffing the nitrous ballons? weird scene....

and i love how they cut off the blonde who was confused about her issues, hilarious. not even registered to vote....moron.

the "pro-life" arguement is the biggest joke for republicans. republicans arent pro-life, they just say they are to get votes and appease the christian right. if they were actually pro-life abortion would have been ended a long time ago and there would have been a lot more effort to overturn roe vs wade by republicans. thank god they havent been more succesfull, but they should stop lying about it.

oops didnt mean to get preachy...guess the film got to me...uh, eds got a nice red batmobile car...and jeff had a sweet audi...wonder if they still have them both.

  • I just finished watching the entire video and all i have to say is i am blown away. I have listened to countless bootlegs and been at shows to hear Eddie talk so much about different issues and politics, but I guess this documentary really puts into perspective to me how informed and passionate he and the rest of the band are about these issues. I think this video shows the band to perfection on stage and off the stage and I am really impressed. As an 18 year old I get to vote for the first time this year and I hope that everyone votes because it really is an important thing to do. Overall though this video was amazing and the songs that were selected were really great, that part with Neil Young was just amazing. I hope this comes out on dvd and that there is some more old pearl jam footage in that "digital lounge" that they keep talking about in the 10club emails.
