I expect citizens like myself will be much more informed.
We the citizens aren't going to be any more informed than ANY other administration. Now if you're speaking of being lied to now that's another story.

Everything. In contrast to president Bush who seemed to know all the answers from his two page playbook - spoke to the people in way to defend decisions already made..
Mr Obama will provide information, allowing and considering the view of the people. The people of the united states will become one of his advisors.

First of all, a President can't inform the public about EVERYHING.
That being said, perhaps he will be a bit more transparent. He definitely speaks more clearly and effectively.

I also think that a segment of society will be more interested in being informed about issues, and possibly participate to a greater degree. I do believe that.

Yeah... that's the most pressing thing our nation should have on its mind right now. But seriously, it's comments like this one that fan the fire in the belly of republicans. I'm fine with legalizing it, but that should be about on the bottom of the priority list for any administration currently. Think about it.

I think legalizing marijuana would help our economy, which is a very serious issue. The government could tax it and spend less money on the failed "war on drugs."

I agree with you about the whole idea about spending less money on the war on drugs, but do you actually think that the government doesn't already make money from drugs?
I have read a few books about criminals and crime and it seems if you are anybody but a small time dealer you are making a ton of money and if you ever want to spend it you pretty much have to launder it. There are various ways to do this, but most of them involve finding ways to make your illegal revenue show up on the books as legal, and therefore taxable, revenue (sometimes taxed more than once before it ends up in your hands). So if drugs were legal I am not sure the government would see much more revenue from taxes than they already do.

That shouldn't even be in the top 100 list, IMO. So many more bigger fish to fry....
