    How is it objectifying a woman when she actually chooses to pose or wear that shirt? I could understand if someone forced them too or used hidden cams

    in a world run by men and a western culture defined and dominated by men, you can not be expected to know what it is like to be the 'lesser' sex. don't think for an instant that i am a feminist and don't think that i am being an apologist for women who choose to show off their bodies. i'm just making a statement.
    honestly it is not my call to make as to what other women think is acceptable for themselves. but i do have to wonder about a society that finds it necessary to base entire industries on woman as sex objects. and that goes for those magazines targetted at women as well, where we get to see men in all their glory. thanks for that little equality balance.:rolleyes:

    Well, all I'm saying is I don't think there is a lesser sex and I don't know anyone who does. If you are in a situation where you might have encountered sexism directed at you, then I can see why you have that idea. However for the vast majority there is no 'lesser' sex. Which means it's situational.

    My g/f has been taking an class and has told me about a lot of interesting points on who women are treated differently in different cultures. I can't remember the name but there's a tribe where the men and women are absolutely equal. The women have as much say in tribe decisions as the men do. They are expected to do the same work and the only time they don't perform a task is when they may be at risk of physical harm. It was pretty interesting because the western world prides itself on being more advanced than these tribes of people who live in woods and have to hunt for their food but in reality, it's these tribe of people who are living the way that the western world only talks about.

    I always thought it was weird how in the animal kingdom, the female is more often the bigger and stronger one, dominating the relationship but in cases such as human beings...males turned into the bigger, stronger one. (Although there are some scary monster chicks out there)
