well it's true...
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I disagree.
Politics at it's essence is very interesting and affects us all. Now the presentation and partisan sniping of politics, that's anal...

Odd that you hang out in this forum, then. Sounds like Porch or AET would be more to your liking.
I think the study politics is fascinating."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -
I agree and disagree. It's hardly boring, but is very anal. Lots of grey with no definite answers, we usually choose stances based on upbringing, influence, personality, ex.. At some point in our lives we jump to a side, and then will fight to the death to defend it. Crazy how it all works.
I'm usually pretty centered, but thats not a good thing. My head is always spinning trying to find the answer. Its too easy and comforting just to jump to one side.0 -

Oh it's fascinating all right, but more in the sense of observing caged animals in a test environment. 99% of all politicians were/are essentially losers and geeks growing up. They all look for a way to stab their fellow man in the back, bend the truth, and outright lie in order to get ahead. Very rarely is it due to their own personal merit, however, fortunately this forum is not entirely all about politics...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions

I think you're much more likely to find the winners there, unfortunately. Especially in american politics which is decided by campaigning funds it seems.

And could you define geeks?RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:losers meaning geeks I guess.
By winners, I mean the resourceful, well connected people who tend to get the better positions in society.

Ackward bratty little kids that nobody liked, or got along with, but now run around eating up taxpayer money as adults. That's how I see most politicians. They have no stlye, cool, or mojo. Hence the boring part. Then the excruciating little details involved in reaching a final decision are rediculously @nal. Undeniable really.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

OK, I really dont know what prejudice I should start with there. But sure, you dont like em, fine. But the thesis that they were all obnoxious geeks in high school is rather ridiculous.RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:Ackward bratty little kids that nobody liked, or got along with, but now run around eating up taxpayer money as adults. Highschool would be young adults rather than little kids. However, in highschool, the ackward, lack of cool thing still fits rather well.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
