A billion dollars just doesn't go as far as it used to. For the first time, it takes more than $1 billion to earn a spot on Forbes magazine's list of the 400 richest Americans. The minimum net worth for inclusion in this year's rankings released Thursday was $1.3 billion, up $300 million from last year.

What does this tell you about what's happening in the US when you need More Than $1B to Make Forbes List?

    Today my boss a half a billionaire placed a 35,000 bet on a horse....won and collected about 7,500. I asked him later why risk all that money for so little reward, he said, "it was a sure thing and because I can". I just shook my head the rich just get richer and richer.
