What recourse have we in the event that a crush proof tube from the 10c arrives with a dimple so big that the poster won't even slide out? It's in there permanently (unless I can bring myself to go animal on it and risk further damage). Am still greatful for it, but it might look nicer outside of the tube.

If you've tried popping the dimple out and that didn't work, find some heavy-duty scissors and try to carefully snip down the tube (kind of like removing a cast from a broken arm) to the point of the dimple.

    sorry for your tube kink

but at the very best scenario- At this point, they could probably only give you a refund after you returnd it - the posters are all gone by now so you'd have to go without in that case,...or resort to eBay or trading.

I can't help you on the recourse, but I can help you get your poster out of the tube without damaging it (further than the dimple may already have damaged it). Assuming your poster tube is like the one I received, you will notice a spiral seam that runs along the outside of the tube like the threads of a screw. Now open the end of the tube (away from where the poster is), and make a small cut (with scissors) along the start of the seam. The cut will only need to be an inch long or so. Do not cut anywhere near the poster. The tube is thick so you may have to work at it a little bit. Anyway, once you have that cut started, carefully pull along the seam and unravel the poster tube along that seam (being especially careful, obviously, once you get to the actual poster). You can then continue to "unpeel" the tube/cardboard around the poster to expose as much of the poster as you need to pull it out. If the poster is already damaged from the dimple, there's nothing you can do, but this will prevent you from damaging the poster further. I've done this myself several times (incl. when posters are jammed in the middle of the tube and I can't fish them out). Good luck.
  • It's so wonderful to be apart of something as wonderful as pearl jam, even if it's only on this level. I thank you for your suggestions, and think I may just let this one go if there are refunds. This is a big dimple, bigger than david hasselhoff's even. Cutting these tubes...I just don't want to ever have to go near a poster with a pair of shears. At least I can tell it's the Hartford without removing it. Anyways, cheers to all and to all a good tube!

No offense, but grow a pair. This is a poster you paid for. It is a complete waste of your money and time if you don't attempt to remove it. I assure you that you have several inches of clearance on at least one end, if not both. Forget my earlier suggestion of cutting all the way if you must, but the suggestion of cutting an inch or so and peeling the tube is magnificent, and if you don't at least try then you are a fool! :)
