Personally affected by war

I found out this weekend that someone with the same rank, and experience as my twin's husband has been called up.

I was already starting to plan to adjust my work, and to move so that I could help my twin out, but I had to remember . . . my brother in-law wasn't the one called up. It is a scary thought, though.

Any one have someone over there?

    Unfortunatley, I was the one I knew over there. Luckily, I haven't had to go back.

    Welcome back! Were you in the military or a contractor? My boss' wife's son has been called a few times, like 4.

    My son-in-law served a year in Afghanistan and a year in Iraq ... very scary times :(

    He's got a year to go before he's out of the reserves, we're keeping our fingers crossed that he won't have to go back.

    I'm crossing fingers, too. As far as my brother-in-law's position, he said that 1 in 3 are being called up. Is he one of the 2 that aren't called, or would he be the 1? Very scary times, indeed.

    My soon to be ex brother-in-law was in Iraq. My nephew's uncle (his mother's brother) leaves in 2 weeks to Iraq and he has already served a year in Afghanistan. Last but not least my nephew, same one mentioned above, was up from Florida this weekend and informed us all the he leaves for Marine boot camp June 11th. So if this war is still raging I fear that he will eventually end up there as well.
