Otto Frank letters

I jus worked on this study last week. The agency I work for was hired, by Yivo, to but together a book with all the letters that they discovered. I worked on this project for a week and I had the opportunity to read all the letters. It was extremely sad to see how hard this family and their friends tried to escape occupied Holland. I will try to get a PDF file of the published study and post it for anyone interested.

    Apparently the Franks were denied Visas to the U.S despite written pleas from Otto Frank. The Franks were not the only ones. Hundreds of thousands of others were also rejected by various governments. And to think, that there are those that still wish to reject the notion of a Jewish state when so many refugees were turned back from Europe.

    What actually happened was that Cuba was going to provide him with a visa but Nazi occupied Holland then changed the law and it was then necessary for him to acquire an exit visa. Otto Frank's two brother-in-laws and Nathan Strauss had collected the necessary funds and paper work to buy the necessary Cuban visas and passage from holland to Cuba.

    So maybe you could post the immigration laws of Israel just to dispell the thoughts that everybody is equal and it dosen't have a contrast of the same era from these letters. You know, as in everybody can immigrate to Israel to live no matter what race, religion, creed you are. Just curious as to how that works????

    stories like those of the franks are the evidence right in front of you that you choose not to see. they are the evidence that the law of return for jews to israel is necessary and just. and israel isn't the only country in the world with legislation like this. germany has it for people of german descent from eastern europe.
    and since world war two israel has been a safe haven for millions of other jewish refugees from places like the soviet union, ethiopia, and every other country that had a jewish minority with a muslim majority.

    think of israel as affirmative action for jews, after 2,000 years of "jim crow".

    bingo. unfortunately the majority on this board seem to think all of the jews who were chased off of Europe should just quietly go back now...
