I dont know if many americans have the intelligence to recognise the subtle moral of the film "American Psycho", reading most on this board i'd have to say they dont. But the message really comes to mind just lately, maybe it should have done earlier, its nice when a film or a song can help you to clarify what your feeling about something, I think.
Anyway if you spotted the moral in the film you might understand my point.
38 States in America still have the death sentence, and i read so much "they're Muslims/Arabs wot do u expect maaan!!"
Much of Saddam Husseins' "crimes" recieved very little worldwide condemnation, and none from America untill it was convenient for there to be some many years afterwards.
Maybe i'm just falling into the trap of "America hating" like 90% of the rest of the World but couldnt the USA help the World a lot more by looking at themselves a little instead of spending they're whole time criticizing the rest of the World.
Still its easier to criticize.

if you were so intelligent yourself perhaps you'd be aware that american psycho was a novel long before it was a movie and perhaps you'd try reading instead of soaking in the mindless medium of hollywood movies.
though it is true america didnt give a shit what saddam did to the iraqis until they needed a smokescreen for the fact that they had no clue where osama bin laden was hiding and decided saddam would make a decent alternative scapegoat.

the novels a classic, the best eastin ellis has ever churned out. I always saw the book reflecting on consumerism juxterposed with how life is an ethemeral trip,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hence materialistic murdering bastard.

IQs notwithstanding, just because someone is dumber than you does not mean their ability to make moral judgments is any less developed. This is the mistake that liberals make and why rural people hate them: they fail to identify with mainstream america. Instead, they make fun of the working man and his way of life by saying that he "marries his sister." Come now.

I'd like to think of myself as pretty patriotic but that really doesn't make me smarter than one or the other.
