I think he was referring to people discussing this issue and I haven't seen many examples of it since he has "often heard" it.

well, I have ... from both extremes (from MSNBC to FOX) ... there are people talking about it.

    Here's one instance ...

I honestly don't think so.. not this election ~ not this time with the state of our country. I think people who say they are voting for Obama are voting for Obama when they get in the voting booth.

Maybe the extremes have covered it, but I haven't seen anything on the networks or newspapers.

I don't really think it's that much of a discussed issue.

I agree with QuestionAuthority though. With the state of the union the way it is, people are fed up with the status quo. At least Obama is a new direction.

Today is the first I've heard of anyone talking about this. The original poster mentioned all of the analysis about it. I just want to know if he meant today or over the course of the election process.

The poll numbers are starting to be overwhelmingly in favor of Obama. The Bradley Effect would have to be quite substantial to effect this election, in my opinion.

  • I hope not. I don't like Obama but it has nothing to do with color. I hope people use their heads when voting.

    EXACTLY. I HOPE YOU DO!

This isn't a new subject. During the primaries there was a discrepancy between exit polling and actual vote results for Obama, but it wasn't huge. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the general.

The 2nd link is interesting because it gives an explanation different from the typical Bradley Effect.

My family was talking about this earlier.
I'm anti-Obama, but it will piss me off if his supporters don't vote for him because he's black. WTF?!
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

the so-called "Bradley effect" never made much sense to me. i think it's way overblown, if it's even true.
