That's right... there is a big percentage of the population that just doesn't know but more importantly doesn't care. When American Idol brings in more votes (which costs you to vote) compared to a Presidential election, something is not right.

from my understanding, you can vote as many times as you want on american idol. last time i checked, i can only cast one vote in a political election. also, you don't have to leave your home to vote on american idol. i'd love to see the day you can cast a vote in a political election by computer, but on the other hand i don't know how secure that would be. hackers can do some pretty amazing things these days.

now take away the votes in a political election that don't count, the ones that they won't count and the people who are not allowed to vote. I think it balances out.

And of course one can not take away the fact that more americans know the people on american idol than the people so far running for president.

a fact, huh? personally, i think you're talking out of your ass. of all the people in my family that i'm in constant contact with, all my co-workers, all my friends......none of them watch american idol. the only name i know is that one that howard stern is telling everyone to vote for, and at the moment, his (her?) name is escaping me.

anyway, let's stop derailing the thread. back to the original topic of chomsky talking about iran.

I was kinda joking, I mean I only said it based on a poll that was on the news the other day. so nothing really serious.

Why so sensitive? You tried out for American Idol and got turned away?

Chomsky has a way to cut to the point and bypass all the propaganda bullshit that we are forced to ingest every day, he is the man. I don't know where he gets his info but I like.
