Alaska (Palin)

Florida (Bush)

Texas (Bush)

Wyoming (Cheney)

Nevada, Washington, Tennessee, South Dakota, New Hampshire

    I'm confused. I didn't think State Income tax dollars would be used for the bailout.

    (And I'm strongly opposed to the bailout, just don't see the correlation).
    The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

    Yep. Doesn't state tax money stay in the state anyway?

    I believe they make up for it with sales taxes and property taxes.

    Generally they are high tourism states that love to rape the tourists.

    You should add Tennessee to that list as well. I'm not really sure about the other states that may not have income tax from the state anyway. I'm pretty sure every state is paying Federal Income Tax.... well at least the people that aren't cheating on thier taxes.

    One of the reasons I want to move to some of those states.. Whats with the Bush,Palin,Cheney references? Not sure I am following you here.

    The root of all evil is Bush and Cheney and now Palin. They are responsbile for all bad things that go on in the world. Didn't you know that?

    Yes they are paying federal income tax.

    To the OP, I kinda understand the point that you are trying to make, but one thing that I think would be helpful is to see where these states rank in federal money received. If unlike Alaska, the other states are in the middle of the road or lower, than good for them. Maybe they can budget better.

    But like Paco said, they make up for it in other taxes. Unlike NY where I live, sales tax, income tax AND especially property taxes are high.

    The Obama years will be a lot like the Clinton years. The economy will rebound and they will give him credit for it even though he has absolutly no control over it.

    Dumb thread. We pay federal income taxes. And from what I remember, my state pays more than it receives in fed $$. This thread makes no sense.
