I think that Obama's Speech was.....

Really well done. He addressed all the smear tactic (non) issues and the creeping doubts about himself in a straight forward and intelligent manner.
Obama also brought up a lot of good suggestions about how to get things back on track in the good ole USA and I liked the fact that he spoke about how he would pay for his plans too.
The speech started out a little slow but by the mid-point he was on track and by the end he was on fire. I think we need this guy as President and we need to pull together as a country. I was not a Barrack fanboy before tonight and I am no super liberal either but I gotta say that was an inspiring speech and I hope that he wins. For our nations sake.
There is right and there is wrong and for the most part Obama was right tonight.

Why don't you cry baby wusses all go out and get laid or something instead of hijacking threads and being assholes all the time.

His was the only speech I watched and i thought it was just ok. I don't believe he lost votes because of his speech or gained any. He held firm and that's about it, now Pressure is on McCain deliver an even better speech.
I think I'm interested in how he'll speak than Obama, the pressure is on him now. I hope Gustav doesn't mess the whole sequence of events up.

I thought it was a fantastic speech, among the best I've heard.
It did everything it needed to do in terms of standing up to McCain and differentiating himself from him. Of establishing that he is not weak on national security and is ready to lead. To outlining his plans in more detail than his speeches usually do (though there's plenty of details on his website) and saying how he'd pay for them.
In all he made a strong statement to people on the fence on who to vote for. It will be interesting to see how well McCain responds at the RNC next week.2000: Pittsburgh

Agreed. I thought he did a phenomenal job. He was very to the point and very substantive. I think he has heard all of the attacks from the Republicans and took them head on. He looked strong and a whole lot like the next president of the United States.
McCain has repeatedly said that Obama would not be ready to be commander and chief. From Barack's speech: "If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament, and judgment, to serve as the next commander in chief, that's a debate I'm ready to have."
I thought he also appeared very centrist: "I will cut taxes for 95 percent of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle class."
Wow, that is a hell of a statement. But one that I think will ring true with the American people.
And on Iraq: "John McCain stands alone in his stubborn refusal to end a misguided war."
And one more of my favorite lines: ""Sen. McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush was right more than 90 percent of the time?"

Fuck that. I get sick on tired of seeing the constant snide remarks and put downs insinuating obama supporters are idiots. You wanna debabte policies with me fine. But quit on the insults. It's rude, ignorant, and makes you look like you have no balls and hide behind your keyboard. Ok? Would some of you people say those comments in real life, face to face? MrBrian would you come up to me and call me idiotic and unimaginative an inch from my face? I don't fucking think so. I don't like McCain or Nader as my preferred choice but i have enough decency and common sense to NOT be childish enough to degrading to their supporters.
congrats on 1500, lol.0 -

Right on! People are so afraid of change and the unknown...well...in my book we can't afford not to elect Barack Obama as President of the United States of America.
Well done Barack! I'm so proud of you...being a Democrate and being an American!"Had my eyes peeled both wide open, and I got a glimpse...of my innocense, got back my inner sence, baby got it...still got it"0 -
So I just saw a couple idiot republicans on Larry King going on about how his stage was so big and comparing him to Britney Spears. And then they went on to talk about off shore drilling.....fucking retards. These idiots have no clue. Off shore drilling?? Really? Anyone with half a brain knows that the drilling will make no impact for 10 years, and the only people benefiting are the fucking oil corporations!!!! Fuck off republicans and get back to issues that concern us now.0

Yeah, that's the answer
let's have more off-shore wells so when all the hurricanes come thru we can have an excuse to raise gas prices.the Minions0 -
Very amazing points, his best speech yet. And unforgettable. He attacked Mccain like a panther, showing that he can be tough. He seemed to take Mccain's rants about no experience, and being celebrity: and took them down the drain. I was impressed and am proud to be a democrat.0

If anyone else is feeling generous after that rousing speech, you can get a Obama-Biden car magnet with a donation of $15 or more at this link on his site.
