It looks like the township was just looking for a chance to shut this place down... I could see a fine or closing for a week or something, but closing it for a year???
Adult store ordered closed for operating on Flag Day
Wednesday, September 13, 2006
PULASKI, Pa. -- A Lawrence County township ordered an adult-themed business closed for one year after officials said its owner violated an ordinance by operating on June 14, Flag Day.
The Pulaski Township supervisors voted Monday to shut down Adultland XXX on Route 422. The business, which opened in February 2000, operates under a township ordinance that limits its hours of operation and allows the township to close it if the ordinance is violated.
Among other things, the ordinance requires the business to be closed on all federal or state holidays, which under Pennsylvania law includes Flag Day.
The attorney for business owner Eric Boron of Salem, Ohio, said his client did not realize that Flag Day was a state holiday. Had he known that, Mr. Boron would have closed the business, attorney Charles Hersh said last week.
