You may look at Afghanistan as criminal. I saw it as a retaliation against Al Queda which was justified in my mind. I make no apologies for that.
I just don't believe that the way to deal with 'terrorists', or any other criminal organization, is to bomb a whole country back into the stone age.0

 It's a great movie.
John Newton, author of the famous hymn Amazing Grace used to be a slave ship master who became an Abolitionist.
"(John Newton) Among his greatest contributions to history was encouraging Wilberforce, a Member of Parliament for Hull, to stay in Parliament and "serve God where he was", rather than enter the ministry. Wilberforce heeded the ex-slave ship captain's advice, and spent the next twenty years working for the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire."
John Newton is played by Albert Finney...superb acting.
They did it back then (exploit) for financial gain...it's happening again now. History repeating.

I like it when people like to spin Bush' mangling of the English language to folksy charm that middle America can relate to. Kind of like how we all enjoyed Sling Blade I guess.0

you are so out of touch with regular Americans...and regular people. you have chuckie schumer saying that the American troops are incapable of anything, you have absolute vacant heads like grandma pelosi basically saying they don't care what's actually happening in Iraq...they will stick to their "failed policy" talking points. The left is invested in defeat. period. and it's so transparent.
at what point do you divorce yourself from the defeatist strategy. at what point do you put country ahead of ideology? well...i'm guessing people here put ideology ahead of country...but how 'bout the Dems? i mean, they have elections to win.
to me...it's hilarious watching the far left take over and completely destroy the democrat party. george mcgovern even thinks you're over the edge.
 ha! ... calling jeffbr a lib! ... that's a good one! ...

Oh sweet irony....sweet sweet irony. Amazing.
Speaking of elections....I can't recall....which party introduced the "vote" on authorizing military action in Iraq just in time for the 2002 mid terms...and then smeared their opponents and Al Qaeda sympathizers or worse??? I can't recall. Can u help?"Sean Hannity knows there is no greater threat to America today than Bill Clinton 15 years ago"- Stephen Colbert0

Apparantly PH can't come back and justify all the points against him? And the comment that I bolded, um, hello we are regular Americans, regular people, it's impossible to be out of touch. Perhaps you are though, it's pretty blatant that are stiffly Republican unwilling to see that this war isn't going well.Purple Hawk wrote:actually...this thread...and libs like you are amusing

He has a pathetic grasp of the English language.
I'd be curious to know if any president in history (let alone one who is illegally occupying another country?!?) has referred to that occupation as "kicking ass".

This is amazing. I gather that the only regular people are people who totally agree with the nonsense that you're spuming.

Hahaha. I guess the right is invested in "winning" (whatever that might be)? Let me know when that happens. Maybe in another 5 years, after another 5000 Americans die, we can all have a big victory in Iraq celebration. Fucking Bush should just install a dictator that is "friendly" to the US for the time being and stop fucking about. That way, he and Cheney can still make their cash and no more Americans would die for nothing. By the time the new dictator turns against America, it will be someone else's problem anyway. Maybe so but the infrastructure was much better than before we went in and occupied the country of Iraq. At the very least they had water, electricity, sewage before the US fucked it all up. Let's see you go without those essentials for a couple of years then you'll know what the fuck the stone age is.

Or wonder why primitive people act they way they do when they are denied the basics of life, and then hold it against them as though they are modernized and should know better.
Nice double standard. It's like kicking a dog every day, then putting it to sleep when it finally bites you.

Are you insinuating that a war with Appalachian State would be a quagmire? I bet a guy like Purple Heart could get behind a war against Appalachian State if his president told him that it would make the streets of America safer.
