I have to say I find it odd that both Camden and Boston sold out same day (Boston in a few minutes basically).

There's no way that many people don't want to go to both... msot people will as long as they can afford it (and some people will anyway!)

Maybe they have more tickets or maybe a lot of people didnt catch this announcement?

    yes, it's very strange.
everyone I know id going for both mansfield, and some didn't get the first but have decided with the second being 'announced'...so I would have thought they'd go even faster..

only explanation is they had more tix for the 2nd..

What kind of world are we living in where PJ can sell out 10c tickets to two shows in Boston and Philly?

for whatever reason...i am thinking unlimited 10c tix to these added shows. what a thought! :)

I don't know about that, though. I think they would have left the presale open longer than tonight if they had unlimited tix

and my experience with two night stands is that my seats are slightly better the second night...so if today's presale is any indication (mainly the fact they are still available) the seats might be better on the first night

we will see soon enough I guess

Any idea how low a 10c # it will take to get into the first 3 sections at Mansfield? My buddy has a pretty good #, and he was curious.

I was thinking anything under 200xxx should do it, but I don't want to set him up for disappointment.

The added shows will happen if the general on sales for the first shows go well, basically quick sell outs.
If the general sales leave 6,000 unsold tix at either venue, don't expect a 2nd show there. So essentially 10clubbers are now counting on non members to attend the shows.

I think everyone is worrying more than they need to right now. The two shows take place in amphitheaters that have concerts all season. Obviously PJ has a hold on the venues for the two nights. Now considering most bands have already announced their plans for June, it would be hard for these venues to find a band last minute to fill these spots. And the venues would rather have a show than an empty night on their schedule so it hasn't even crossed my mind that these shows might not happen.

tickets ARE still available for the reservations. i am not talking about the presales already past, for actualy set shows....and THAT we knew the presale would end, sold out or not, on the 28th 5 PM PDT. those shows, almost definitely had the 10% fanclub rule in effect. i am thinking, just maybe, b/c these shows are 'added shows'...it is somehow a loophole to unlimited fanclub tix. maybe b/c it's not definite they can do this? otherwise i simply cannot fathom how tix for mansfield in particular, on a saturday night no less, would still be up for sale. i'm thinking - lots of 10c tix! but that's just my own, fully unsubstantiated theory. :p

no end date for the ticket reservations is listed in the first post....just 'while supplies last.' interesting......
*late edit - i stand corrected, don't know how i missed it....there WAS an end date/time listed, april 1st 5 PM PDT. none the less. they WERE actually both available up until then, which to me means....more 10c tix than the other shows.

Maybe, but I'm guessing if the TC wanted to do their best for their fans (which I know they do) they may have tried the same thing with MSG.

This really doesn't make much sense for me either way.

well i look at it as......these shows ARE 'maybes'...whereas they KNEW that MSG would be a done deal easily for 2 nights...and perhaps MSG is too big a venue to try and arrange these 'maybe' dates. so i would certainly not fault 10c for that, at all. MSG sold out for 2 nights = a given. i think trying to arrange a 'maybe' show at MSG for a third night with the MSG management would probably be too difficult if not next to impossible.

all i do know is this teaser of a mansfiled show now has me going to CT, and hopefully mansfiled :p...which i had NOT planned on. i was doing DC and the 2 MSgs...so whateva....2 weekend shows of live pearl jam = BLISS! :D

I'm with you about last minute decision changes. I now have 2 pairs of tickets for concerts for June 28th. Although I'm holding of selling the my other tickets until Boston N1 is 100%.

Pearl Jam has played three, count em three, nights at the Tweeter Center in 2003. I was at that amazing third show. I'm fairly confident we will be seeing two shows here. The demand is always high for Pearl Jam in this neck of the woods.

the venue of course would rather have a show..they get paid regardless of how many people attend!
the promoter on the other hand has no interest in going ahead with a half full show..the expenses are the same whether half or full, but not the income..

Dont worry they are going to confirm it as soon as the other shows go on sale. It's not a coincedence that the Thursday Camden was announced first. They want people to buy thursday first because it will be no problem selling tix for a friday show. Same thing with Mansfield. Thats why the Saturday show is getting "added".

Lets just thank the 10c for getting us tickets to these shows.

I think the 10% rule still applies to these added shows, so members many be in for some better seats than normal.

The extra Mansfield show is 2 night before the already scheduled one, which would make it even more expensive for those already going there to add this to their itinerary. Now they would have to pay for two extra nights at a hotel rather than just one. Plus the extra cost of eating out while on their trip.

I still thought Camden would sell out. I reserved my tickets at work as soon as they went on sale even with my supervisor standing right behind me. Turns out I could have just got them went I got home.

Yes, but the concert industry is definitely struggling thus far in 2008.
    To wit;
    Using a few local example.
You refernce 2003. That year Bruce Springsteen played 2 Gillette Stadium shows and 2 Fenway Park shows. All were sell outs. This year the Globe let slip that the Boss would be at Gillette on Aug 1 and 2. Last Saturday Aug 2 show went on sale, and lots of seats are still availble (I just pulled up a 10 lot onTM in the 2nd level, not even the uppers), and tix prices for the Boss have only risen from $85.00+fees in '03 to $97.50+fees today.

Dave Matthews Band always sells its 2 Tweeter shows (Fenway in 2005)out in about a half hour, this year you can still get seats (pavilion even through LiveNation's site, who'll be wresting sales there from Ticketmaster next year with its own ticketing site) for both shows.

The Police at Tweeter is oficially a bomb (I just pulled a pair in section 1 row M, seats 6 and 7, thats 7th row on the right, and for shits and giggles was able to pull up 50 count'em 50 consecutive seats in section 12). Now the Police can be attributed to oversaturation ( 2 Fenway shows and a Garden show last year) and ridiculously high prices ($225+fees for pavilion seats).

Some other stalwarts are selling relatively poorly at Tweeter including Rush, while some are selling well (Jack Johnson, Tom Petty), but overall sales are definitely down.

That being said, I expect the demand for the 2nd show to be there, but wouldn't fall off my chair in shock if it didn't happen based on what I'm seeing with some other artists.
