I just had a thought, an inspiration. What beats blood? Not that it is thicker than water so much, yet, it carries the DNA, it involves the adrenaline...some can't see past the disease, or the race that it carries.... Passions and oxygen, sneezes or, perhaps, blushes. Dying. Living. This component that mosquitoes and sharks thirst for.
Somebody needs to write some words about this.

Get dosed with that: what then? paint Ed big
 soaks the pages
 Blood
 The old roast rotted
 inside the RV's fridge,
 in the dark. For months...
 Corky opened the door
and every dog on the block barked.
 Blood
 We begin immersed,
 not swimming, not breathing
 but rolling and being
and listening to life's beat echo
 louder than anything else.
 If our senses worked better
 we'd see red.
 Blood
 Pushed out of the square
 with incredible force
 It zips up Main Street
 Left turn at Fourth
 Right now onto Broadway
 then up Second's alley
 Slowing and knocking
 on Love's cargo doorway0

that's meant to be three separate poems.

she dreams in colour, she dreams in red
thinks of all the blood she's shed
boiling thick, she drowns in tears
 for life and death
upon her bedSurf little waves big... Charge big waves hard

A heart beats blood. No? Too corny?I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.0

            kotex longs
 playtex tampons
 shaped for thongs
 light days
 obo
 with wings
 more absorbent
 thick or thins
 cramps
 chills
 headaches
 midol pills
 28 days
 roller coaster ride
 you'll get your red wings
 as you bravely preside
 over that tender mound
 to help her feel better
 and bring a towel
 so she don't get wetter
 might need tea
 a hot water bottle
 blankets and sympathy
 just a cuddle
 a kiss for your lady
 lucky again
 not expecting a baby0

I like poetry that jacks with my body. Visceral.
It's good. Like watching action films... yeah.
I think it's so cool being on here and being able to throw a PJ reference into poetry. Those songs have colours and auras to them that we all know intimately. It's like instant-emotion. Good Stuff 0 0

such a simple thing to see
 the evidence of injury
 unlike contusion to the heart
the skin's a simple ruddy tart
that cries thick red. "crimson". sticky
 opposed to tears. common. Icky.
new poets bleed like skin, a sore
old poets never come to shore
for they prefer to swim in itch
 words in strings. suture. stitch0

Holy Blood Clot Batman, I think we have a winner!
I like this one. Good rhythm and mood. Good turn of phrase there at the end.

she holds her hands out towards him. he takes them in his. turns them over, her palms exposed. he sees. she pulls away from him horrified. but he does not believe. she knew he wouldn't. why should he when she doesn't understand. she woke that morning with a clear head, something she hadn't done for so long she can't recall such clarity. he figured it was some perverse joke. the look on her face told him otherwise. how could this be, he wondered. all the time he had known her, she had been an atheist. why would she be the one chosen. why would He choose her to show his hand. the only time he heard her say His name was in anger or ectasy. she was the most irreligious person he had ever known. yet here she was standing in front of him, bleeding from the marks of christ.hear my name

            Blood is shed
 tears are cried
 within my heart
 an angel has died
 my pride is pouring
 as my wings soar
 the blood now dripping
 from the open pore
 to be seen this naked
to have it all on the line
 intimidations fleeting,
I must stand high. Can not be arsed with life no more.0

            blood is life
 blood is death
 she opens her veins
 lays down to rest
 everything she thought she knew
has flown away because of you
 she can't think straight
 perhaps even, not at all
she hears faint footsteps coming down the hall
she closes her eyes and wills the darkness to come
she longs for the end of a race she never could run
so when you find her, please don't feel bitter
she tried to relieve it other ways, but it just wasn't within her.hear my name
 take a good look
 this could be the day
 hold my hand
 lie beside me
 i just need to say0
