My other grandmother
Used to read romance novels
Smoke cigarettes with my grandfather
(who lost his leg to Diabetes)
And she used to sew alot
Had her own labels and
even sewed my
communion dress together.
She had a purple satin comforter
upstairs
where my cousin Billy and I
would play our electronic football game.
And she would let me dress her mannaquins;
While wearing her shoes were so much fun.
I wish I could have those days back
when all the elders were still alive,
So I could weave you a tale about
Our family get-togethers.

    I've noticed lately that you never really notice how good things are until they're gone, and years away.
    I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

    yes, the days of youth and family, I would roll back time in a hearstbeat.
    The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

    And I won't make the same mistakes

    Ah, the good old days! :) Makes me miss my nanny & poppy, I loved them so much and really, they're the only family I can think of that were really family to me. Yeah, it'd sure be nice to roll back the clock. :)

    I guess I have to agree too. My childhood had a fairytale quality (maybe it seemed like that when I was a kid). I do miss those days too.
