we trimmed the trees so they would bloom,
the air was chilly, no sun that afternoon,
and I met a man with soft blue eyes,
who laughed at nothing...
at nothing all the time,
so I asked him about his life and he told me his story,
and his nervous habit was charming to me,
I thought about how he was probably not accepted,
wondered how many times he'd been overlooked by society,
the scars that I've touched that I would lovingly kiss,
how willingly others dismiss,
that not taking people for who they are
seems to be the norm...
and I don't really understand,
how is it that we can so easily mistreat
this truly beautiful man?

Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

Very touching, twin1! Made me a little teary even. People can be so judgemental in their assumptions of others and I'd have to think that often times, they're really missing out by letting fear of what they don't understand turn to indifference or cruelty.Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen0

Twin, that was by far one of the best poems you've ever written. I see that you're expanding... OWNING your craft.... thanks for touching me on a day I'm in need."To live,.... love,..... there's a song to be sung,....
'cause we may not be the Young Ones,..."
--first u sow the seed-- nature grows the seed-- then we eat the seed--nah,... we smoke it!
